As they say about land, they are not making any more of it. I do get slagged off by certain posters for talking about my personal circumstances whilst others expect me to respond to a question. So I am in a catch 22 situation. Recently I have had 3 letters from property companies asking me to name my price on one location.IF, and it is a massive if, any restrictions/ crackdown then this will obviously affect supply.Labour want to build more housing so short of compulsory purchase there is a conflict.My understanding is that the concern is with the larger building companies buying land and holding it in a land bank and then refusing to build on it. My holdings are way too small for massive housing estates and in any event the majority surround my property so alternatively can be sold on when I sell my main residence, so I won’t be losing any sleep about it, so please don’t you worry for me too.

So in your ideal world we would have become isolationist producing overpriced goods poorly made, that nobody wanted remember British Leyland. That would have been good for choice and cost of living and growth.. I suppose it’s Thatchers fault we shop at Primark, drive around in foreign vehicles and take our holidays overseas but I am sure you do none of these. North Korea uses that business model

This is a huge misnomer, do you realise even Lenin wanted successful small businesses, you may encounter jealousy from people who have failed but as a person who has mostly failed I do not begrudge your success.

You state you are now middle class, that Social mobility within classes has issues, you are not middle class, you are a working class lad who has done well and the aspiration to join a class is simply nonsense. You will never be upper class however much wealth you have.

You are not middle class, you pretend you are, but you are not. Money is irrelevant to social strata, you can have poor upper class and rich working class, it is not about money it is about social circumstances.

That is because social mobility is a myth, nothing to do with chips on shoulders. I am a working class lad and the barriers that class creates would not allow me to say join the Bullingdon Club

Yet the government of the day created the NHS, rebuilt the devastated country with council housing, natiionalised huge swathes of industry and even the Tory leader Macmiilan said in 1957 that the UK had never had it so good. We had a social democratic concensus that survived until Thatcher unleashed neo-liberalism on the nation and we have never been the same country that Macmillan said we were.

Some of your points I agree with others, I don’t.
I am not going to go through point by point otherwise other posters will criticise me by saying it’s all about me, so it’s impossible to please everyone on here.
The one area I will challenge is your interpretation of the class system.
It is possible to move from one class to another , it’s called social mobility.
There are certain tests the Sociologists do to determine where someone sits in the Social Strata. I am not going to go in to too much detail line by line as again it just attracts adverse comments but I tick every box as what defines a middle class person.
If I said I was still working class on here it would be like saying I am skint and the usual posters would accuse me of taking the piss out of them.
 
Now is the time for the Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats to get their act together.

They should agree to stand down one of their candidates if they would finish third in a constituency at the next general election.

With the Tories facing only one of the other two main parties, there could be an utter rout.

Frankly no more than they deserve with the way they have handled things in the last three and a half years.

Interest rates to 5% how the bloody hell will that help to bring down inflation?
