The Conservative Party

Ep 3:
"We are right and we need to act quickly and kaboom!"
Kwarteng sounds like a fool with his comments. Interesting that he admits that he was fired by twitter.
Not as much as Simon Case does though. He sounds as if he knows he wasn't competent to do his job and that he knew the rest of them weren't either.
Mogg talking more rubbish. Pretty certain he said that Truss had mandate from the party members and how outrageous it was that the MPs overturned it.
Dorries beind Dorries.

Barely anything positive for the Conservatives to take out of that.

Tory extinction… tick tock.

Having ran the numbers, the Tories suffer a 2pt swing against them every election cycle just on demographics alone. That will get continually worse until either:

1) they start suddenly attracting more new young voters than any other party - maybe they can try for that in 2060
2) young people become more conservative with age - not currently happening

According to YouGovs Raw data from their latest poll on voting intention for the next election (if you don’t modify for Don’t Knows) the Tories are polling at <10% with the entire under 50s.

I’m not one for bold predictions, but I think if they lose this election (as seems incredibly likely) they will never win an election ever again - the demographic shift won’t allow it. There is no coming back from what they have wrought against young people in this country. They are utterly doomed.

They aren’t. Never underestimate cunts voting for them. Just look at the Starmer thread. It’s more important to some folk that he isn’t doing everything they want him to do than to moan about our current government.

True enough and I try not underestimate them but I can’t help but feel this is an existential moment for them as a party. Their voter base is literally dying off and they have never won an election with <36% vote share. I just don’t see where that comes from in 10-20 years time. It’s not like they could nab a few % from spoiler voters and win. They are so far behind they need to somehow triple their vote share with young people before it’s too late.

But a lot can happen in politics so who knows?

A cull of the 2019 Tory newbies needs to be undertaken. The ones selected to agree with Boris and back Brexit at any cost.

Then we can start to have grown up debates in the commons again.

Please slap me if I’m being stupid here but the government are announcing funds to give children a safe space to go, such as kids clubs. Are these the same safe spaces that they pulled the funds for back when they took over and left our children with nowhere to go?

Bloody hell ..... they'll be opening libraries next.

You're forgetting about voter suppression. They'll be raising the minimum voting age to 65 next.

Everything goes round in circles.

Soon as they take office EVERYTHING will be labours fault , immigration, economy, employment etc.

Media will go full swing and do everything they can to destroy Starmer and dig the dirt on other Labour MPs

It sells news and people will ‘want change’

I think it'll happen naturally as a lot look likely lose their seats at the next election.

It's then a matter of how long it takes to reset - that in turn may depend on who the next leader is. It seems likely that it should be 2 election cycles before it could happen, even with the media support - much depends on how the next govt get their message out about the hole they'll be starting in.
