The continuing mistimings of Labours PLP

John Smith is the greatest leader this country never had imo.

Brilliant man he was.

John Smith, like all popular people who died too young, has become a Messianic figure who people hang their hopes on as he can never betray them.

He's Labour's version of Kurt Cobain or Jim Morrisson.

I want to see the Tories gone.

But you've just said that you understand that Corbyns role isn't PM but as moving the Overton window, presumably for a future leader to win the centre.

This means that you're supporting a leader who you are pretty sure cannot win as it furthers your aim of moving the political conversation.

It also means that you're giving the Tories more years in power. Or to put it another way, you're condemning the poor and desperate to 5 more years of Tory rule in order to move a conversation. How many people will suffer in those 5 years? Is that irrelevant to you?

As ever, we differ on the implementation rather than end goal. If I thought that somebody's role wasn't to be PM then I'd want to remove that person from the leadership position immediately

I said I want to see the Tories gone...

Remember....
The third way middle ground you long for is nothing more than a lie, a Tory-Lite mush created by the centre-left capitulation to neoliberal globalization, that is why it isn't the middle of anything, it's either New Labour Tory Tweedledum or One Nation Tory Tweedledee.

That means May and Umunna.

May is as comparable to Third Way politics as Corbyn is to Communism. You're building strawmen.

Says the bloke who accused me of being a Stalinist.

And no doubt Momentum will elect them to the NEC if told to do so.

Yeah, people should act spontaneously and not do as they're told, all this rent-a-mob, pre-printed placards, manufactured outrage!

Blimey! looks like they got them from the same print shop! Someone's making a packet!

I'm still waiting for your global government to take care of it...

Ironically, it has the same chance of existing as a Corbyn led Labour Government.

But I guess the NHS can survive another 5 years of Tories unaffected. I mean, who wants to help people? Pfft. We've got much bigger fish to fry
