The Coral - Butterfly House.

I only listened to it once through really bad speakers but my initial impression of it was that it wasn't as close to as good as Roots and Echoes. But I'm sure I'll be listening to it a lot in the next coming weeks.

Thats the problem though.

I dont think its their best, probably the best I've heard this year though.

You can't lose a guitarist like Bill Ryder Jones and still have the depth in sound. Him and Nick Power used to bounce off each other.

Been umming and arring over this, cos i've always had them down as a shite scouse band, and tbf not liked their previous singles, but this new album is getting mega reviews and the more people keep praising it and them, the more i keep asking myself maybe i've been a bit snobby in the past and should try it out.

Yep, gonna get it meself, Invisible Invasion is my favourite album by them.....loving their new direction, they play the Lowry next Saturday night. Slightly off topic, but best LP this year is Teen Dream by Beach House, it's stunning.

Yep great album its got to be up there. Really loving The Acorn 'No Ghost' as well some, great bands on Bella Union at the mo.

Just listening to this now, on the second track, different sound to the usual Coral stuff but still every appealing, i like it.

i'll post my opinion after a few listens.
