City of course!!
With the 7 draws back-to-back
Drawing games from wiining postions(fulham, burnley) is not good
HOWEVER we still have a chance to get 4th as liverpool look lost, spurs still have to play the top 3 and villa look tired
If someone would of told me at the start of the season we would still be in the race at this stage of the season i would of taken it
Now is the time to really get behind the lads cos their going to need it

Can't keep dwelling on what happened back then. Defeats against Hull, Everton twice and drawing at Sunderland and Stoke plus that toothless game at home to Liverpool have hit us just as badly under Mancini.

Mancini came in with a job to do. At the moment he has been average, let's see if he can mastermind something special.

Good post of course we would of taken this at the start of the season. The thing we have been a bit unlucky with injuries to key defenders in Bridge , Lesscott and Kompany during the season. Add to that the 7 game ban Adebayor has got this season if he was Stevie G he would of got away with it and he was bang on form when he got the first ban.
Still this result will kick them on it could be a blessing in desguise for all we know it will show just how much they want it from here to the end of the season. With 2 home games Villa and Spurs to come it is better we have them at home than away its in our hands this is there for the taking.

pmsl, i really have heard it all now.ever thought of fighting an election?

Mancini has done well with the crap Hughes bought.

If the Board had got there arses together and bought the players Mancini wanted earlier in January then they'd actually have arrived at the club and given us the players we are currently crying out for.

rubbish mate...the players that hughes bought were the ones that were available to us or wanted to join us, bearing in mind the position we were in back then meant we weren't likely to get world class players (tevez excepted) and we are still not going to attract world class players unless we get in the chumps league

tbh, would you realistically want mancini to spunk another £250mill of our money not knowing if he is going to have a contract in june

The damage was done in august when Hughes decided that instead of building on what worked for us last year he would try and shoehorn our players into a 4-4-2 that didn't suit them. It was also done when he decided to fuck off Elano and not bring in a replacement leaving us with only one creative midfielder.

The damage was further compounded when Manicini allowed Robinho to go out on loan (although a situation not entirely of his making) and also failed to bring in a creative midfielder even though he knew Ireland was having a poor season. And it is without doubt his cautious style has cost us games that were there to be won at times.

Both of them made plenty of mistakes and the best that can be said of either of them is that they did/are doing a reasonable job. I think its about time the myth that Manicini has been brilliant is firmly put to bed.

However, despite all the fuck ups I still consider us to be favourites for 4th and would be very surprised if we don't end up sneaking it at the end after beating Villa and Spuds at home. If that happens hopefully Mancini might learn from some of the mistakes that have been made this season and next season wont be quite so frustrating watching an expensively assembled team shooting itself in the foot at every possible opportunity

i just knew that when bobby failed hughes would get the blame. the damage was done as you put it was sacking a manager mid term they tying his replacements hands behind his back as the window came and went.

It doesn't matter what any of us think tbh. Whether "the damage was done in the Autumn" or "do you really think Mancini will be here after the Summer."

What matters is the here and now.

and in the here and now, we have just lost our game in hand

Yep. Shit happens.

But I cannot see how what happened months ago or what MIGHT happen in the months to come having any real bearing on that shady. It was one match. We won our last one convincingly away from home. That was one match too.

Taking football results in a "snapshot" way is not conducive to good mental health or at all realistic IMHO.

Thats what i call blind optimism, no chance mate, no leaders, a manager and coachinng staff lacking in inventivenes or ideas. A total fucking 200,000 million pound shambles, At least if Hughes was here we could call it his shaambles, but somehow if Hughes had still been a city, i think we wouldd of pulled through. With this clown all we can do now is wait for the axe to fall in May. Ridiculous as usual for us suffering cnuts at City.

Oh, and you dont need hindsight to see we wont get 4th, more chance of Everton getting it.

i just knew that when bobby failed hughes would get the blame. the damage was done as you put it was sacking a manager mid term they tying his replacements hands behind his back as the window came and went.

the damage was done by the owners dropping a major bollock by not getting rid of hughes straight away and appointing someone they wanted!
instead they let hughes spunk 200 million up the wall on average players.
de jong - not good enough
barry - not good enough
toure - not good enough
bridge - not good enough
santa cruz - not good enough....for mellands on sunday morning!

and if they let mancini spunk another £200mill away, they will be making the same mistake

we are still an "also ran" club with a lot of money and until we start getting some domestic or european success we wont attract the type of players we all want to see pulling on a blue shirt
