Can't take it

World Championships kicks off next Tuesday, 1000 fans allowed into Ally Pally (seems like a lot for what is normally a 3000 capacity venue), tables of 4 with all seats facing the stage.

Going to be strange viewing as no singing, chanting or fancy dress is allowed! I imagine they are struggling to sell the tickets even with only 1k allowed in. All subject to change should London go into Tier 3 next week

Starts tonight, crowds allowed in for the evening session today only then behind closed doors from tomorrow onwards, likely for the whole tournament unless London somehow gets moved back into Tier 2 in the next couple of weeks.

The expanded field of 96 players over the last couple of years is good in that it allows new players from all over the world to compete, but the tournament can take a while to get going properly

For the life of me, I can't understand how it's attained the cult status it has. I've had more exciting wa bouts of diarrhoea!

Though, to be fair, that game last saturday evening would run it close!

Fair play to Hearn. Incredible the money in darts now. No wonder so many younger players in it. Think the winner of this gets about half a million!
