I was talking to some City fans about it the other day, and the memories of that day came flooding back! However, my memories were of sun soaked beaches in Turkey and not having a f**king clue anything was going on until I got back from the bar that night and I had a load of texts and calls from mates telling me what had happened! Basically, I missed it all!

So, I know this is a long shot but...did anyone happen to put Sky Sports News on Record for the day and feel like being a true blue gent and sending me a copy of it? Or email it me? Or put it on a site I can download it from? Or just by any means possible, get me a copy of it?

A pint will be bought in Mary D's before the Swansea match to whoever steps up! Thanks!!

Well that's whoever provides you with the copy declining this invite.

I raised this issue last year. If city made a DVD from the minute that sky sports news started rolling the story , right through until the transfer window shut it would be amazing!!! I wonder why they have not done it?

Not the day but the last 8 minutes of the transfer day

0005: TRANSFER CONFIRMED AND MY GOD IT'S A CRACKER
Robinho, the 24-year-old Brazilian, has left Real Madrid and signed for Manchester City. That is officially the biggest deadline day deal in history. Probably.

Still wish he'd done well here and been consistent like the first half of 08/09. He'd have been awesome to watch.

Being on blue moon that morning was pretty brilliant , as the magnitude slowly dawned on us all. The day just got better and better . I can't remember the exact details of how it was rumoured but there were vague whispers for a few days but that was all

I was on my way back from rag ridden Surrey (a wedding) and my mate-aka barry comlon on here-text me to say "The arabs have taken over-standby for take off"!!

Still have to pinch myself now,and this is just the beginning.

One of the biggest letdowns of recent times, and we've had our share of letdowns!!

The classic "Marcos Balls" thread on that very day..

Ey, that's my vid. Do I get a pint?

I've got it recorded form about half 10 til about half 12 I think. What it was, was because it was a school nite and I was up early for work in the morning that at half 10 I thought I'd try and get to sleep as I'd be fucked the next day. So with the impending signing of Robinho I set the record and lay in bed, but was absolutely buzzing my tits off! Didn't fucking sleep obviously, gave up trying to sleep and turned the tv back on about quarter past 11, watched the news of robinho signing and the City fans singing 'we've got Robinho' and eventually got to sleep with a great big smile on my face

I remember the morning of the day when I was reading this forum in work, with the 'somethings going on thread' (I think) and someone else putting 'anyone seen this' and a link to an arabian site about our takeover. The best thing was that no one had a fucking clue about it previous to it happening, no one. No tomie youtube clips, no newsnow links, no word on the street, fuck all. The thing was my initial reaction was that I was quite worried and wasn't sure I wanted Thaksin out at the time! Told my boss about it who asasured me that it would be good news getting rid of thaksin. Then there was marco's post, about the men with camels and a huge star with a contrct to sign. Brilliant

Got home from work and my brother picked me up to go to the gym. We had the radio on and it was all over the news with al-Fahim going on about how the arabs have 'very deep pockets'. Me and my bro were buzzing our tits off and he doesn't even go to games or watch football anymore. Quality day

I got in my van after all day at work and put talksport on to see what was happening and Durham and Wright were goin on about City becoming some major powerhouse in football. i was thinkg alright lads well done and then followed "with them outbidding utd for Berbatov" at this moment i nearly crashed into the car infront until the news man come on and said "WOW do i have news for you city have bid for Gomes, Villa, Torres as well as Berbatov." By this point i had almost exploded until the news came on and explained what had happened that day and what the owners were worth, now i was just reaching cloud 10 and had to go view a house with the missus, i dont actually remember anything other than sitting there like some dumb cheshire cat for about 2 hours. Got back in the van to drive home (2 Hour drive) then the news broke of the bid for Robinho!! Oh my god i thought i had gone to heaven. I quite literally didnt know what to do and i still had an hour to drive. Got home and sat on the internet till 4 in the morning reading up about everything. Got up for work at 5 surprisingly not tired, drove to work and on the way brought every newspaper printed including Daily Sport, lol!!

was waiting for my mates to pick me up to go work down south, one a rag from castleford & the oyher leeds.
watchin ssn when it came on the yellow ticker that we had been taken over
imeadatley rang my son who works at city and he knew nothing
then my lft came and we set off for the south, talk sport keeping us informed
was good to see the rag sink further into his seat
did a few hours work the watched ssn in the pub with my mouth open

I had the week of work luckily enough, and was up bright and early and remember being gutted about corluka leaving, kept refreshing and the it all started turned on skyspirts and sat there till midday with my dad and my brother watching it unold!

Went down to the ground hoping to get a grip of the action but wasn't much going on, went home and had a few beverages with my mates waiting and praying for a signing. About ten o'clock there was rumours of robinho coming so naturally in my drunken state I walked to my mates in the phone to 'you're on sky sports'. Got through in the end and spoke to sam allardyce and geoff shrevves and told how being a blue was different to every other team but we wouldn't have it any other way, just as I'm about to be cut off after finishing I screamed 'city till we fucking die' down the phone. Had just got to my mates and they all cheered as I got in!

Next day went to the ground and got robinho on my shirt with my dad, brother and mate, we were then interviewed on sky sports and had our pic took for the men

I remember that day quite well, in the morning I went to school, where first I talked with my mates about our 3-0 win over Sunderland the previous day. Then we got onto Berbatov, and how United hadn't signed him yet, and I remember one United fan saying something like, "It'll probably end up going through at about half past 11 tonight". Oh how right he was, but at that stage nobody could have guessed why...

Then at about dinner time I'd heard Corluka had gone, something which annoyed me because of how good I thought he was, so I arrived back home a bit unhappy. Then my Dad said City have had a £30 million bid accepted for Berbatov. My reaction - "As if!", but he persisted with it, and I turned SSN on, and there it was, we had had a bid accepted! Was completely baffled and amazed by everything that was going on as I was reading everything about ADUG. I remember, United fans were bricking it over Berba. But from the moment I saw Hughes on the golfcourse, I was always sure we were not going to get him.

Then breaking news comes on saying we've bid for David Villa and Mario Gomez. It was just like OHHHHHHHHH MY GOSH!

The day wore on, and then, there it was! Robinho was on the verge of joining City, and then when they said he had offically signed, I remember seeing the fans go mad over Alan Myers! Immense. WE'VE GOT ROBINHO, WE'VE GOT ROBINHO. Then I went to bed, I had to, just to think over everything that had happened over such a short space of time.

I woke up and went on the computer and was monitoring the BBC tranfer news updates, I saw that Vedran had gone to Spuds, I got really annoyed and ranted to all my mates that Hughes needed outing as Vedran was an incredible player for us, I keep wacthing it and then an update comes up saying that there is a rumour going around that we have been bought by the ADUG and I though yeah as if this is some rag making rubbish up and sending it to the BBC, I then go on the yahoo tranfer tracker and see that they also have this rumour and then I think: Oh gosh this is real! I then google and wikipedia the ADUG and see that they are very, very, very rich and that they would make us the richest club in the world and then I start to think who we will buy and then (by this time it was elevenish) I turn un sky sports and they are at COMS talking to fans I think I should be down there but I decide not to as breaking news comes through saying we have bought Robinho for 36.5 Million and I think this is a dream this isn't happening, they go to COMS and everyone is going crazy and I finally know this is real and not a dream or a wind up at around 4 o'clock I go to bed thinking this will change every thing at City for ever, something good is finally coming to us

To my dying day I will remember getting a call off my mate and him telling me to turn on Sky Sports News as we'd had an offer accepted for Berbatov and we had agreed a fee with Real for Robinho.

It's easy looking back being wise after the event but even before I'd turned the TV on something told me this was the real deal and all our problems were over.
