The Detectives: Fighting Organised Crime

Lots of ex police officers agree . I have no idea how many murders and how much crime is attributed to the drug trade but it must be very high. Some part of the States and Canada are legalising cannabis so we'll see how it goes. It will take a brave government here to do it but the present format isn't working.
Is it because a political party fear losing votes? If so phase it in. Look to sell cannabis through licensed shops, take away only. No Skunk etc. Everything else stays criminal. Then bring in that Boots can supply smack, do it in stages. there needs to be an adult discussion, no Mary Whitehouse types but something has to change

And would you believe it also a law firm now, his brother is a solicitor I think

Ha ha correct, Jason did set up his own legal firm in Spain helping Brits who got into trouble. He's not legally trained himself but is obviously knowledgeable on the system there and does employ solicitors.

Indeed he was, the town celebrated his downfall that weekend, proper bully, good riddance..
But if another gangster took his place......
I won't say his name in case Ric is sued or more importantly I am but the guy that topped Little is a Pschiopath

Yeah...the governments should stop ignoring the obvious. People will always want drugs...just like they want alcohol. Whos' to tell me what i can and can't put inside my body. Alcohol nearly killed me.....yet that's pretty much encouraged! Weed is like candy compared to alcohol....it's very popular, yet it's illegal. So we get criminals selling it instead. That then leads to rivalry and gang wars.
Skunk is overrated and over-priced. Most of it is shit. If it's strong, you just put less in! Like alcohol!
If the government legalised ALL drugs but then decided to rule out certain ones on the harm they cause, alcohol will be first on the list to go.

Well said and written. I have watched interviews with ex drug squad officers, some who were undercover and they are pretty unanimous in agreeing. Shaun Attwood who served time in Arizona for supplying ecstacy has researched it in a lot more detail and written a couple of books on the war on drugs. Some are quite controversial and name Bush and Clinton but who knows? One thing I do know is a lot of money is made in the American prison system and drug arrests fuel that profit.
Yep, agree.

Peter Bleksley is good on this subject and also tells many an interesting tale about his various undercover jobs whilst a copper. Fascinating stuff.

Fuck me just watched it, the house they raided and found all the kidnap gear was in Haughton green. To fucking close for comfort. Jesus.
Thought the same i live there(not in the house) but over the last few years it has got worse crime wise, lived there all my 65 years and it used to be a nice place to live but like everywhere else gone down hill

Tough watch that. What a grim life. I can only imagine what prison must be like full of these characters.

Most people's idea of hell. I had a mate who served some time for going ott with a baseball bat on two big bullying brothers who tried targeting him. He said the worst part was being cooped up with really thick people you couldn't really have a conversation with. Most couldn't read or write. Now you have the drugs in there. For the hardened con it's no big deal. They'd rather be out of course but they know most people in there and all the tricks. For your average Joe finding himself inside would be like a goldfish dropped into a tank full of piranhas.

You’d be surprised who you know or someone knows someone you know, they get the word round yes he’s ok etc, problem now is the older con just wants to get his head down do his bird and get out, the younger ones are the noisy cunts but generally if your ok with them there ok with you

Someone very close to me ended up inside for drink driving. In no way a crim, just fucked up

he said the worst part of being locked up (apart from actually being locked up) was the people and the noise. Utter morons shouting 24 hours a day. Thick as shite.
4 months in strangeways changed him forever

Yes I forgot the noise, my mate said it's non stop like a zoo.

When I was younger after spending months cooped up on ships, sometimes four to a cabin and some morons too I could have hacked it. Now a lot older I value my privacy and peace, two things in short supply inside. An ex prisoner officer told me if I ever did end up in there to threaten to escape or attack a screw every chance you get. He said you'll go on segregation and probably get a single cell. I hope to never find out lol.

Totally agree, if it was regulated 35% pure smack, coke without the killer adulterants etc etc do it and the leave law enforcement to concentrate on the shit stuff and the criminals

Its my biggest fear getting sent to prison... and i dont even do anything wrong!!

Ha ha yes I'd be bound to bump into someone I know. I'm easy going and people seem to take to me and like me ( Hard to believe I know lol) I'm used to mixing with strangers and mingling I'd get through it but rather wouldn't.

I remember watching a documentary about the amount of older prisoners on the increase inside. One prison was setting up a separate wing for them so they didn't have to put up with the young mad ones and their choice of music lol.

You don't have to, well kind of. You could lose your rag with a knobhead, give them a smack, they fall, bang their head and die and you could possibly get five years for manslaughter. That was my greatest fear after I had a head injury. Some of my rages were instantaneous and off the scale and in that moment I definitely felt like killing the object of that rage. Thankfully I've learnt to control it and it seems to be subsiding.

I think that was my fear, do something like look at my phone when driving and plough into someone. Its not something i do but just an example.

a fee years a go i had a tax situation hanging over my head (all sorted now), i was also really suffering with anxiety at the time and id lie in bed at night convincing myself i was going to prison and it was a real fear. In the end HMRC apologised and they actually owed me £250!!

i enjoy, in a twisted way i guess, the documentaries on prisons. Same as i ‘enjoyed’ the prog of which this thread is named after. But its more a perverse interest in an underworld that exists around us and so close too
