"The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" 11/11/11.

Added a few texture mods to my game, as well as something called FXAA which makes the graphics on the PC a million times better. If you're on PC give this a wack http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=131

I just finished it. Did the main quest of course and just about every possible guild quest except the later randomly generated ones. Probably missed some side-quests on the road as there are so many but I reckon I did around 80%+ of the game's content. 80-90 hours it took me... and yet the main quest itself is really short and unsatisfying so the side-quests are really what make the game.

Really, really trying to do the main quest but whenever i get to a new town or city i start chatting to the locals and keep getting side-tracked!!
I currently have 13 main quests and 27 side quests on the go!!

This game is bloody brilliant

Started a new game, going to build my player up this time. Went with Ralon this time though.

Stuck in a cave, too many glitches in the game. Going to sell it when I'm in town tomorrow as I don't want to start over again.

I did too, I got stuck in Volskygge.

Luckily, I was only a few hours into the game.

Just seen the video on YouTube about putting baskets over the shop keepers head and taking what you want. Handy.

Ah, I learnt this was an issue in Oblivion. Simple solution is to assume the game could fuck you over at any point, so have multiple save files.

That's what I do, I have 4 and split them into two groups of two. When I enter a location, say a cave, I alternate saving on the first two files. Then when you get out of the cave into Skyrim, you change to the other two and save on them alternately. That way if you have an issue in the cave, you can flick back to your previous save file. If it's a problem with the cave itself, you revert to your last save out in the world of Skyrim.

Sounds like effort, but it stopped my game being ruined once so it was well worth it. The game in general is worth putting that extra bit of effort into despite its inconveniences.

Change settings to novice rather than start over. Cheating I know but better than restarting. The default setting is adept. Novice gets you through easier

still working on leveling up my crafting skills so I can make some top class weapons and amour.

got smithing to 100 by making way to many iron daggers enchanted these along the way and just got enchanting to 100. that was harder of the 2 until I got an absorb health enchantment that allowed me to buy soulgems and still make a bit of gold.

just made my first set of alchemy gear (4 x 25%) and in 30 mins of using this I've gone from alchemy level 48 to 62 and made something like 10,000 gold

I think I'll be heading back to one of the 3 quest lines (Main, Dark brotherhood or thieves) soon.

I've got 2 houses one in whiterun and the other in Markath

Is there any other way to discover alchemy recipes other than buying / finding the recipes, or just eating random sh*t to uncover the properties?

Seem to have to lock myself in my house (because I don't want to posion myself in the middle of some dungeon!) and scoff everything from giant's toes to flowers, then try some mixing, in order to discover any potions.

Should know really, I have the guide at home, just a bit lazy.

I sometimes loot little notes of random enemies that have the recipe written down for certain potions/poisons but other than that i'm not too sure, I haven't really experimented with alchemy yet.

Got it this morning and have to say it's brilliant, those first 4 hours flew by.

Apparently off to take on my first dragon now...

I find it reasonably easy to defeat a dragon if you've got a few people around you to distract it. Trolls are the biggest cunts, they regenerate their health so quick, took me a good 30-45 minutes to defeat two that I found in a cave on my way to the grey beards.

Trolls hate fire and it drains there health really good :)

Accepted the side quest to get a mammoth tusk and I didn't really know where they would be. So just carried on and started another where you locate the girl in whiterun and as I was on my way to kill the assassins there was one there. Tough to take down too. Anyway, completed the other side quest and left the cave I was in and just as I was going back to Whiterun, ran into 2 mammoths and 2 giants. :)

Really getting into it now, not gone to see the grey beards yet, just trying to do as many side quests as possible. If you join the stormcloaks or the imperials, do you get attacked by the other side?

This won't be useful for you if you're playing on a console, but if anyone playing on a PC finds themselves in this situation you can open the console with the ` key (left side of the 1 button) and type 'coc whiterun', you should be teleported to safety. :)

I just can't get off this game wow I've turned overtime down at work to play it and everything it's taking over my life. I was asleep the other day pickpocketing and killing dragons all night lol. I've just joined Thieves Guild done loads of easy jobs for them (u make loads of cash) also turned into a werewolf which is pretty cool. Awesome game best I've played since Red Dead Redemption :) anyone played Dark Souls can ya tell me if it's similar to Skyrim it's looks quick good on clips is it worth buying?
