We just got this a few days ago on PC. I don't really think much of it though I'm only a low level !
The travelling is shit everywhere is miles away ! and the map/journal is crap in terms of finding out where to go. Will play on but I have doubts that it's going to become amazing.

Once you have located the areas on the map so that they highlight white, you can go on the map and fast track there which is a fantastic and saves lots of time. Also all the main quests will be highlighted on the map once you have activated them as your main quest. If they don't, then they are secondary quests which need you to go and speak to someone in an area to make them a proper active quest.

Does any of that shit i just typed make sense?

Anyone else a fan of the Fallout series? Skyrim feels like a olde world version of that, I know it's made by Bethesda so I guess that's why!!
Does joining a certain clan mean you can't join others ie enemies of each other etc or can I go around joining everyone at random?

Fallout 3 is a great game; spooks me out though

My mate said when he bought a house the bloke put the money in the cupboard next to him and when he walked off he just picked his cash back up...

Anyone meet stuff they just cant kill I have met plenty.

A dude on fire shooting fire at me.

A green glowing women shooting stuff at me.

Frost Trolls.

The chief bandit was a bastard aswell but got him in the end. I am only level 7 but found a dragon easier than the bastards above.

Just spent the last 45 minutes trying to kill a mammoth, that includes the 15 minutes it took me to realise a seal isn't a fucking mammoth.

Level 4, I've been pussy footing around so only really come across some bandits, thieves and some seals which didn't attack me until I thought they were mammoths.

Any way you can find out if your follower died? I had one on doing a quest then I couldn't see him after the combat so buggered off.

I dont think they can die from what i've seen they just seem to kneel down for a bit then get back up.

Companions will ONLY die if you deliver the death blow by accident, other than that they will come back to you at some stage. Ive found that if you open any door and the game loads up when you are in the room the companion will be there with you, also if you have a horse and you lose it or it gets lost it, it will appear back at the stables where you bought it after a couple of days of game time

I didn't know whether to buy this game so I dusted off my copy of Oblivion which I got about halfway through the first time, and loaded it up to start a new game.

Fucking hell it's shit. Almost every character in the game sounds like Jauffre, the actor doesn't even bother attempting a different accent. I'm furiously skipping through the atrocious dialogue, but this isn't the worst aspect...

The worst aspect for me is the game just assumes you're a big fan of the series and doesn't bother teaching you the absolute basics, for example I want to do magic to kill enemies but all I've got is a shitty 'flare' attack and the ability to summon a skeleton which is worse than useless when you've got goblins constantly throwing fireballs at you.

Pick a spell and it says something like 'sorcery 25% on self for 10 seconds' - what the FUCK DOES THAT MEAN? The game hasn't explained it. It's both confusing and frustrating.

To cut a long story short I picked up a few alchemy things from a mages guild, became 'over-encumbered', couldn't move, turned the PS3 off and punched a fucking cushion.

I still want to buy Skyrim because the reviews say its awesome and it MIGHT be miles better than Oblivion, but then again the reviews all said Oblivion was awesome and I just don't get it.

I didnt like Oblivion either mate, found it really slow and boring. Traded it in after a few days. Skyrim does have a few aspects I am not keen on but me and my mate have been geeking it the last few days and it is really cool if you have some time to kill.

Buy it. There, you're sorted :)

Some odd fuckers on here, Oblivion and Skyrim are pretty much the same format, how you can hate oblivion but love Skyrim dosnt make sense.

The only bit of diference is Skyrim has a few elements of Fallout3 in it.
