The End of on Street Parking within walking distance of the Etihad

The new parking scheme is nothing to do with Andy Burnham, its down to the City Council and believe it not, Manchester City FC who, I understand are funding the full cost of the new restrictions.

The "believe it or not" bit really wasn't necessary. As a traditional, 'legacy' fan, I wouldn't trust anyone involved in the City Group as far as I could throw them.

It was in the s.106 for Arena more specifically. The arena planning report had the expanded residents zone back in 2020, then they "consult" 3 years later after it is a done deal.

If it is imagine how many people will try to park there when there is absolutely nowhere else.

A simple solution would be a huge park and ride with the club providing coaches (obviously at a charge) to the ground on a shuttle.

I know.....Dreaming.
I went to the Grand Prix at Silverstone a couple of years ago. Park and ride was brilliant. Hundreds of buses. Well organised and better than being stuck on the car park trying to get out. Never going to happen as it's too sensible.

It’s in the middle of nowhere though. There’s no other traffic to work through, is there?

I'll be over from the coast for an 11.00 appointment in Ashton on Wednesday so will be testing out the tram from there.

Looking like parking is getting tighter and my spot on Grimshaw Ln is now/about to be fucked.

Makes you wonder where all the Stewards are going to park....big queues getting in as nobody to wave wands about?
