The first single you ever bought?

I must have missed this thread first time around.

1964, bought the 45 from Woolworths in Sale with my pocket money. As hard as it may be to believe, a single record cost more than getting in to Maine Rd back then! 6s 8d for a 45, compared to 5s adult or 2s 6d concession in the Scoreboard End.

And despite it being overplayed a bit like Beethoven's fifth it still sounds good to me.
