winding down in life.
ok so we have a brilliant squad and yes we are champions but is anyone else worried about the strengthening our opponents are doing as we twiddle our thumbs? i do trust bob and i do trust mr marwood but i have a funny funny feeling the ffp is causing us to lose our targets, sooner or later they will sign for other clubs, i.e. rvp hazard etc.

can someone put my mind at rest.

ps only fellow flappers need reply :)

i'm starting to feel exactly the same. as good as we were last year, we were 0 points better than the rags

Hazard and Kagawa been with their squad for weeks now, bedding in and training together.

Us = nothing

Am I flapping? Yes

Heard a guy on the radio the other night saying that as impressive the signings are that Chelsea have made, it could also put them at a disadvantage. By that he means how they will have to gel together. He more or less discounted the others, Arsenal especially but rounded off his bit by saying, 'whilst many expected Man City to spend, the fact they haven't lost anyone puts them in a position they haven't been in under the Sheikh's ownership - a squad now fully gelled and that should be what worries their rivals'.

I like that.

I'll only flap if we sign Scott Sinclair otherwise I'm chilled. We missed out on Sanchez last season and ended up signing 93:20 man.

While everyone says that the sort od transferes we are going after now take longer.

i would still have expected that we would have some signings in place before the Charity Shield.

Any new players now will take time to integrate into the squad, added to the fact some players are only just back training.

Not ideal for the start of the season.

i think we were 12 points better than the rags

we were 0 points better than the rags+referees tough

Thought it said slapping thread.

We've already got a squad that won the PL and that was without Tevez for most od the season, Balotelli being out more than he was in, Yaya at the ACN, Silva half-fit for the second half of the season, Nasri settling in and Dzeko often looking like he wanted to be somewhere else.

I don't care if we don't bring anyone in. If we get the best out of those players for most of the season we'll piss the league in my opinion.

edit....hes already here

Flapping -
- if RM is not getting what he desires to see us succeed this season and where we have had a chance of getting it
- Seeing the RAGs get RVP??? (listen to the twats go on about it if they get him)
- Seeing Chelsea & Arsenal improve
- Short on cover in defence & midfield

Not Flapping
- Squad is still together
- Players have bedded in

agreed but so gelled are our players if they are weakened by injury or a barmy sending off them a guy coming in should be primed and ready, not signed on aug 31st.
to be fair it is mainly a cb and another in the yaya mould we need for certain. a pacy winger would be a bonus.

Not flapping but last season we looked dominant with our best team out but consideralby less so when we lost players. Yaya and Kolo if he stays are off to ACON and we may not be as lucky with injuries this season. It is clear that Mancini thought we were light in midfield with Hargreaves drafted in last minute and Pizzaro brought in mid season. It is also clear that we thought Hazard could help.

I think a couple of quality signings would significantly improve our chances of repeating last years success and no signings would leave it a bit touch and go.
Ideally signings are made early to bed in but I am not that bothered when they come inthe transfer window as we have a pretty settled squad.
Flapping no, but definately hoping we get in a couple of quality players.

If not for FFP or rather our wariness of it (since PSG don't give a damn!), I'm 99.99999999999999999999% sure we'd be celebrating Thiago Silva's arrival at the Etihad by now. De Rossi is a tougher case but Roma have finally admitted that money talks so he could have already been here too. With those two at City, Real Madrid and Barcelona would have been twitching nervously.

Im not flapping just yet, but anyone who thinks everything is in control and going to plan is an idiot..

Not the slightest chance Mancini would want to go into our first fixture with Scott Sinclair as our main threat.

Not flapping in the slightest.

I said on day one of the transfer window that worst case scenario of us signing no-one would still mean we were better than the competition we were facing in the Premiership.

Even so, I still expect three signings before the end of the window, even if we have to bide our time to get the best deals.

Oh, and I still don't believe that our adherence to FFPR is the reason we haven't splashed out as yet. I still think it's just good management of the part of the owners who want to see a financially controlled investment after three years of huge investment.
