The FOC thread.

After the rag final loss I was on the underground and some young blue fucker offered me his seat!!!!!!

Shit end to a shit afternoon (I'd only just reached junior FOC by then)!!!!!

Just think of it this way — it would have been even worse if it had been some young red fucker. The ultimate pitying gesture.

Having just reached the magic six-oh I consider myself a new entrant in the FOC club

But... my experiences in the 1970's are as real and vivid to me now as any decade since - does anyone else feel the same about that decade or even earlier?

The Corona lorry.

Butcher's van. The butcher used to give me and my sister a slice of hog's pudding each time he visited.

Baker's van. My cousin and I used to ask him if we could have a ride down the lane in the back of his van, and we’d chuck out a bag of crisps each, then eat them on the walk back up the lane.

Just to round it all off, it's 9:30 pm and you've had a few jars and someone comes through the doors looking like an ice cream man but it's not ;-)

I did that for about a month back in the mid 70's - along Ashton Old road, through Droylsden, Guide bridge, Denton, then back down Hyde road. Costs went up the later it got, as drinkers would pay it, esp the Midland Lakes pubs at Belle Vue!
