In 1953 all us school kids got a Mug to commemorate the coronation. I broke mine by attaching a rubber band to the handle and using it as a yo-yo.
There was an outbreak of impetigo round our way in the late 60s, thanks largely to one young lady who was (to put it nicely) a bit 'free with her kisses'.
Purple spots were pretty much de rigueur for a week or two.
