Yes. I think that half of the tat in our house was bought using Green Shield Stamps.

Wondering what happened to them. I’ve just been reading about Green Shield Stamps in Wikipedia, and I was astonished to discover that they became Argos in 1973.

I remember them from the 70s.

And I can't forget them because I'm a Genesis fan ,and there is a reference to them on the classic LP " Selling England by The Pound "
That 1973 album was well ahead of its time....

Hail, rain or snow. Paper round before 7am, took about an hour, then off to school, if I walked it took about a hour. Started at 9.10. Finished at 4.10. Had to be home before 5, otherwise the shop owner kicked off. That definitely moulded my views on managerment. Then another hour or so to deliver the Evening News. 6 days a week plus Sunday morning delivery which weighed a ton.
