Exactly.

Once they find out who the Blues who can't afford to pay £6 on a Pie are.... doesn't matter how much you sing or how long you've watched City for.
You're out the door replaced by the prawn sandwich brigade.
Why do people persist with the notion that prawn sandwiches are the apotheosis of haute cuisine, especially given who it was that devised the phrase in the first place?

Swan foie gras blinis might do the trick. I might drop the club a line.

Prawn Sandwiches are 99p in Boots can get a meal deal for £2.50. So are we expecting the meal deal brigade in

-- 21 Aug 2013, 13:08 --

Only a matter of time before the club find out who is buying what.........

I can see the discussion now around a table at the end of the season.

"let's take Mr Bluehalli for example, he spends £600 a year on his ST and has had one for 20 odd years.....problem is he doesn't spend any money when he is there and however much we try to tempt him with tasty Jamie Oliver pies, he just won't bite!!"

"compare him to Mr G hunter who visits us 4 times a year, spending on average £100 a visit......if only we could fill the ground with more G Hunters......that seat would be giving us £1900 a year......that's the challenge team, get onto it!"
I'm sure this conversation has been had already. United have been running their finances like this for years, it certainly won't have gone un-noticed in Manchester.

At the moment they don't really know what (if anything) anyone buys, as its not linked to your customer number, but I'm sure there will come a day when it is. My guess is that they will introduce some kind of "City" money, to replace cash, which you will have to load your card with, and then any purchases will be made using your card, and so they can track exactly what you (do or don't) purchase.
But are they not contractors that do this, we would have to take over the catering and betting business ourselves to introduce something like that

Meh, plenty of burgers stands outside plus a McDonalds, Asda and chippy.
The food inside the stadium hasn't been worth what you pay for a while now, it's just even more expensive now. Ill keep gracing Tony's stadium chippy in the mean time :)

lol, it's just relevant to Football ain't it. Roy Keane is a twat but had a point with his comments about their home fans.

I will be priced out of the stadium in a few seasons. I had issues with this but now I've come to accept it.

Enjoy.

Its unlikely, it costs me £120 to come and watch a City game so im quite selective in my games go to away games close by (harder these days since support boomed) but I have never been tempted to eat or drink while im there maybe a hot drink if its cold but they are cheap. I dont understand why shops inside will price you out as you are not forced to use them. Ticket prices may be an issue but hopefully with the expansion they will go down a bit

I hope not mate. The club needs to be careful about alienating its sore fanbase, which any more steep increase in pricing would accelerate. We need to get new fans onboard, but the club would lose its identity if that was their only objective. There's a balance to strike between old and new fans and I hope they realise this. Time will tell, I guess.

EL3, Got in for half 7 joined the queue for a beer, gave up at 7.45 so joined the queue for food, shutters came down at 7.50, Will have an extra pint in the pub next game and buy food from outside, sort it out City

I am so sorry GDM, but I couldn't help laughing out loud at the sore fanbase, I have visions of all these people suffering from chicken pox!! Sorry. Sorry.

p.s. I know it is a typing thing rather than anything else so it's just small things amusing small minds I guess!! ;-)

So how much are these new 'posh' pies?

The ones sold in East Level 2 were about £3.80? Isn't that the usual prices?

or is there a next level of pie from those we get in level 2?

I bought a burger after the match and was told it was £4.50 as I went to pay.

I didn't look at the prices which is my fault but asked them to keep it and have my money back which they duly did.

The girl behind the counter said blame Jamie Oliver.

Well spotted EB. Deliberate mistake, obviously,

I am sore after yesterdays workout lol...

And my view is they (City) want to attract the new, younger fanbase with an interest but no club (fifa generation) who would change their club allegiance faster than we would.
By making them feel more comfortable the fanbase changes from that traditional football supporter to the more corporate loving global fanbase...local Season ticket holders out, Tourists with flights on Etihad from China every game in.

This is just my perception and hopefully I am wrong.

No matter what we say there are a lot of Manchester based/Manchester born fans in the rags stadium. Luckily for them they have many seats to ram the hyper cashed up tourists in as well

I finally cracked at half time as I hadn't eaten since the night before.

£ 3.80 for 1 chicken balti pie! (I refused to pay £ 5.50 for the posh ones) & £ 4.00 for a pint.

Walked back down the concourse to watch the tv (it wasn't working) only to find with my 1st bite that it wasn't chicken. I think it was steak. My second bite came with a mouth full of mushrooms. If it's got mushrooms in it please say so on the menu. Mushrooms make some of us sick.

Something to wipe your hands on would also have been good.

I'm not sure about this 'other grounds have similar prices' theory. If it was £ 100.00 per ticket & £ 10.00 per pie would it be ok because someone else charges the same?

I applaud the idea of better food, but surely it's just decent food, at a reasonable price with good service that most of the fans want. My maths isn't great but I would have thought that 5000 people buying a pie for £ 2.50 would be better than 1000 people buying one for £ 5.50. I imagine that the price puts most people off, but I don't know that as a fact.

Anyway it will be back to £ 2.16 a pint in the pub & £ 1.20 for a pie from the chippy. As people have said, I have the choice.

Bought a pulled pork sandwich and chips, both were were good. Was it worth paying the extra rather then getting meat pie and chips at the chippy? Not so sure in terms of enjoyment but probably a bit of a healthier option.

Will probably try the hot dog next time round.

Mushrooms make you sick? Fucks sake, good job this generation don't have to fight Hitler.

As for something for your hands, there are a million serviettes at the back by the salt and pepper stuff.
