Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge on The Day Today was a master of the genre over 20 years ago.

Only ever made six episodes of TDT. I remember it very fondly, although that might be because I was 25 years younger! I enjoyed Brass Eye even more.

Used to love On the Hour too, the radio show that preceded The Day Today. Think I’ve still got the cassettes of it somewhere but, alas, no tape player to play them on. Might see if you can download them anywhere. Well worth a listen, if you haven’t already heard them. The original Partridge radio stuff was brilliant too.
