I see a 100,000 seater stadium.
I see a Man City team with homegrown worldclass players who play magical football and we get branded like Barca and Real Madrid.
I see a United team and club fall and it fans flee to FC United and start going to watch local clubs like West Ham.
I see a Ian Holloway winning the world cup as England Manager.
I see Football bringing the world together as one and stopping wars and soldiers dying.
Well you can say i need to wake up! But trust me we are all living the dream that many city fans alive and dead saw in their hearts..."One day we will be the best" Nothing is impossible in life or football....we all know that now.
Where it all began??
Anna Connell (a mancunian version of Mother Theresa) who started this great club was born in Ireland to Arthur Connell who was a Rector of the parish in East Manchester and was sick of gang fights in the suburbs of Manchester so she started up a SPORTS CLUB that initially started with cricket then converted to football. Within 10 years she was witnessing 10,000 people watching her dream that had become reality. She made it happen through Charity and the love of others and caring about the community and its future.
Anna lived on North Road and died in 1928 caring for her father in Southport. (Im tracing her grave as I type)
She never had any children and lived her life giving service for others. If city need a statue of anyone at COMS it is of this great woman.
In fact the more research I am doing on her the more I feel that it would be one hell of a fantastic FILM!!!
I plan on taking a picture of her grave when i find it and i will post it on here.
Happy New Year
