I know some previously die hard socialists who have now switched to UKIP. Which is ironic really, considering how UKIP are considered more right wing than the Tories.
Must admit I find it strange how some on here were labour voters but have voted UKIP, complete polar opposites .

Can't get my head around it really. Must be one overriding common factor rather than the bigger picture.

Everyone voted?
For the first time in my life and i'm an old fart, quite exhilarating, might do it again in next few months when nothing gets sorted in this one!

Ducado - that was wrong and out of order. I have met your personally and to quote me as idiotic for my view and then not debate it and then quote Johnson on the left with a ban show what we are up against tonight.. Not once have I resorted to this on 6 years on here but your post was that rude I will defend myself. I have never boasted about my succes but this idiot you refer to owns 18 properties outright and another 16 with mortages as a self made man through hard work and I have paid more tax this year that you will in your life - all that from a single mum in a council house in Burnage and a dad who was a baggage handler. Enjoy banning a few who don't agree with you tonight. You were very very rude then.

Populated by ex-tories and bankrolled by former tory donors
True, but the point about socialists is very valid. I personally know a few people with very left wing views who find UKIP attractive, and some will be voting for them.
Socialists can sometimes hold quite illiberal, right wing views, socially. Life is never as simple as some people see it.

Maybe that's just it. The bigger picture just isn't that important as the local issues may just be that bad. If those local considerations are immigration, then maybe people are just voting UKIP in the hope that the major parties will have to listen. Maybe those ex Labour voters just don't see them as their party any more?

I think it's more common than a lot of people think, they are kidding themselves and so are the media if they think people will not vote UKIP and will somehow vote tactically for the tories, all UKIP voters I know will be sticking to their guns

You and a few others have been winding people up for the duration of this thread, we know what you are up to, you are welcome to debate the issues but you have gone beyond that in this thread, now I am sure you are a very rich man in real life who has paid more tax than me, but when it comes to this thread if I say quit it, you quit it, hope that's clear enough for you, if not feel free to drop me a pm

If you're happy with more immigration, not getting a referendum on Europe & think being on benefits is a lifestyle choice then I hope you voted Labour today.

But you can get to fuck as far as I'm concerned because your selfish lazy thieving attitude will ruin this country for my children & the children of normal hardworking people in England.

Labour claim to be for 'working people', they are not they are for lazy shysters who think that the world owes them a living.
Knob
That's unfair. I love my knob.

To suggest that it would be wrong to have a PM wit 33% of votes cast supporting him would be wrong and championing the right of another man that is likely to have approximately the same level of support but fewer allies does seem to me "slightly" illogical.
As for suggesting that the tory party, the same tory party that have spent the last 5 years attacking and demonising the working poor as a party of the workers?
I can see where he was coming from, and he insulted the post, not the poster

If you want more cuts to education and more dingbats with the arithmetic skills of Johnsononthefarright, vote for the Tories.

Of course you can see where he was coming from you are of the left wing. Several could see where I was coming from. He said even by your idiotic standards - if that is not an attack on a poster I don't know what is. It was rude.

Look at the political map - everywhere where people have money - where people have worked hard and done well for themselves is blue.

I don't know how anyone could put a cross on a ballot paper tonight and want that idiot milliband over cameron? Can someone tell me exactly what cameron has done wrong? Only 1 in 3 people want milliband as pm and 67 percent don't want him! Yet he could get on - staggering and wrong. Of that 33 percent most will be immigrants or public sector workers. The torys are the party for the working man in this country these days.

so prosperity is dependant on geography?? or are you saying that people who work hard then move to affluent areas

whichever it is, where would you live if you could afford it, an affluent area or an area of deprivation??

Edit... I misread your post, I agree with you :-)

As I pointed out, you just insulted the entire population of Manchester and claimed that they are all workshy layabouts who don't woprk hard to provide for them and their family

Which probably wasn't the smartest thing to say on a forum mainly visited by Mancunians and ex-pat Mancunians.

Then said that somebody who called you an idiot for this was rude and said you owned 18 houses.

To be fair your post was pretty inflammatory and insulting, you implied that only Tories work hard which obviously isn't the case then call the guy who could well be successful enough to be next PM idiotic which you rightly aren't to keen on and go on to say only 33% support him, how many do you think support Dave then. Hope the rents on your 34 properties aren't state funded or your success is down to the Labour welfare state you hate.

Protectionism and Socialism ( at a national level ) aren't polar opposites, their social policies though would be poles apart from most of the left wingers I know.
