on a yank forum i post on a lot of new posters have suddenly pledged alliance to man city and when i question them on why they are 'fans' of our team, the answers are all inadequate

i really fear if we keep our current rate of spending on players up, where is this gonna leave us fans? like chelsea's hardcore? supported thier team in the thousands in the 80's yet cant get in now? will we end up the same?

i want success like the rest of you, but i cant help but feel all of us who have supported the team for years are going to get slung aside for profits, and it will happen imo

Last year was the first time I have been the Chelsea since the mid 90s(I've been outside the UK since then)and it's worrying seeing how their fanbase has changed and I hope it doesn't happen to us.
 
We'll have support like Uniteds and Chelsea... just gonna have to accept the vast majority of real fans will be fucked off.
 
Sorry but it's going to happen. Inevitable. Just have to remember we were here when they weren't.
 
Chelsea's fanbase started to change before Abramovich. They were already one of the most expensive clubs to support when he arrived. I hope I'm not jumping the gun but Sheikh Mansour doesn't seem intent on screwing us just yet. £95 for kids. £250 value season tickets. Other decent concessions too. We have decent grounds for optimism in avoiding a lot of the problems other clubs have encountered.

why should we though?

ive been going to away games for almost a decade now, and i enjoy it partly cause its almost the same old faces at aways

why should we accept the new lot who will probably have more money to splash, and price us lot who have been going for years, i will hold onto my season ticket for grim death but i got to say, a few more increases in price and i wont be able to afford it anymore

its pissing in the wind if you think city will look after us lot who have paid thousands into city over the years for people with more income
