For our younger contributors (myself included).

This is what it looks like when City are really in the mix:

(Sorry, I'm on a roll with the paper archives tonight).

Thats really cool mate. Thank you for posting. Gives you a sense of anticipation for the last day of that 67/68 season. My Mum (R.I.P) and my Dad were both at that final day at St James. Although my Dad still says that the 3-1 win at Old Trafford in the March equals it.

No worries mate. With the advent of the 'bigimg' (a great move, Bluemoon) button, I'll hopefully be able to get a few more of these up. I love them.

Here's another beauty. Shame what was round the corner.

Excellent look forward to it! On topic I suppose the fact that City did what they had to do and United actually lost at home made it even sweeter. I've spent many a time with Newcastle fans and they always say the only times they have ever been outnumbered at SJP was when they played us and Rangers a year later in the Fairs Cup.

It must have been a wonderful afternoon. When you watch the youtube clips with about 3 minutes to go all you can here is the chant of 'Champions, Champions'. God I'd love for that to return.

Yer Dad is spot on. The result at the shit heap put real belief into every Blue present.

Yep! he reckons it was a serious moment that wiped away years of being second best. I pray for a similar moment one day (fixtures depending obviously). That night must have been fucking amazing.

lol
