The Greatest Show on Turf - Cheltenham festival 2024

Today the super boost was evens from 4/11.

I bet tomorrows super boost is more like 6/5 from 5/6. They always give a bad one after they get rinsed.
Super Boost is Evens from 4/9 as it stands, Ballyburn 1.30pm.

Better than expected.

To be honest, the Festival has been losing its appeal for the last 5 or 6 years for me. 10 years ago you got a couple of odds on shots, that were champions and had been there and done it previously. These days, more races than not on the first two days have odds on favourites. That coupled up with ‘Peaky Blinder’ lot that rock up to Cheltenham and never even watch a race have killed it for me. It’s the first time in over 25 years that I’ve not been this year. Had a few pangs yesterday to be honest and wished I had gone but soon got over it. If they do add another day to the Festival as they keep threatening to do (and I think they will) then it will be totally fucked. I’m hoping some of Mullin’s big shots go down today, but I don’t think they will.
Looks like it will be a procession for the Mullins runners today and somebody should give Nicky Henderson the phone number of the guy that supplies the dippers inhalers. Is it a coincidence that the festival is going downhill since the likes of Alan Brazil big it up on the radio as a big piss up rather than a racing festival?

Something feels a bit soulless about Mullins pretty much dominating every race, is it always like this?

It started a few years ago. But the Mullins machine has certainly put a dampener on things at the Festival nowadays.

The boost today is Evens for either Facile Vegas or Grey Dawning for the 1.30 from 8/13.

I have run the figures you need to bet £59.35 across the two horses to win £100, so it is just under 4/6 in reality so not bad.

Odds are drifting on the 2 front runners slightly so this offer now has less utility. Not as good as the first 2 days' boosts by a long shot.
