I'm not one for stereotypes but some of the comments represent individual incidents that I've seen or heard of.

I was in Zante once and heard a clearly genuine tale from one of my English bartender mates about when I pissed English lad needed a shirt to go home down the beach in and was given a Panathanaikos top by his knowing Greek colleague. He got abused and threatened all the way back, Panathanaikos apparently being the most hated club in Greece. Lucky to be alive, allegedly.

Liverpool tried it and it never really caught on. The lyrics have to be basic for a whole crowd to sing for long periods.
