The Green Party

My other half has been unemployed due to ill health since 2012. Firstly because a botched operation at Tameside hospital left her with chronic abdominal pain which requires her to be on medication for the rest of her life. On top of that, she suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2020, the after effects of which will be around forever and as a result she's now on even more medication. She's trying to get back into work but it isn't easy finding a job with her medical history.

She also walks our dog every day.
Walking the mutt is probably one of her most effective 'medicines' i'd guess.

Pisses me off when people think they know how ill someone is just by looking at them.

Thought the abuse that Hannah Spencer got for her attire in the House of Commons was unfair, but saw her in an even more ridiculous outfit today and, frankly, I now have zero sympathy for her.

Live on the BBC currently - Zak's on stage preparing his lefty nutters for a straight fight with Farage's fascist nutters.
Lot about genocidal Israel, closing UK yank bases and saving starving students. Iran's murderous regime not mentioned.

Kate Nevens of the Scottish Greens wants to abolish prisons. Comments from her competitors across all parties:
Scottish Labour's Pauline McNeill described the Green candidate's comments as ludicrous and reckless.

She said: "This would let murderers and rapists to walk our streets free of consequences for their heinous crimes.

"That is not progressive, it is monumentally stupid."

The SNP's Angus Robertson said the abolition call was "absolutely bonkers".

Scottish Conservative candidate Sue Webber said the justice proposal was "insane and irresponsible".

"It beggars belief that someone who fervently believes that murderers and rapists shouldn't be locked up is high up the Greens' Lothian list and likely to become an MSP."

Reform's Thomas Kerr said that "an end to prisons is not liberal or progressive but instead dangerous extremist ideology".

Scottish Liberal Democrat Liam McArthur said: "This is a dangerously naive view of the world.

I'd watch that fight. As long as religious nutjobs don't join in. They're the worst.

Interesting that the attack lines on Polanski are all childish stuff about his name, his teeth, his careers, his sexuality, his faith.

The actual attacks on his views and policy seem relatively sparse. Obviously there's a reason for this, and it was similar with Corbyn in this regard. The vast majority of his views are extremely popular. It goes without saying the entirety of the the Right (Labour) Hard Right (Tories) and Far Right (Reform/Restore) after the childish jibes, have only three attack lines: He's a commie (yawn) he's cynically harnessing the British Asian vote (duh) He's a dummy, populist/idealist who doesn't get how things actually run (because the status quo has served the working person SO well since 1979!!)

The job of the media and the neo liberal Right (from Labour through to the nutters) is to treat the Greens like they are irrelevant..even as Reform collapses under the first bit of actual journalistic interrogation of the leadership in 15 years during all the various iterations of said group and as Nigels ties to Trump sink him. They will rearrange the deckchairs, telling us the emperors clothes are splendid as Polanski who has more brains, charisma, communication skills and authenticity than all of the fools frothing at the mouth come at him like kids...eats them for breakfast. Oh. And they can't Corbyn him. It's gonna be real fun!
