100-71:

74. Walker (not on last years list)
75. Ederson (up from 89 last year)
92. Rodri (not on last years list)

Some of the midfielders/players they've ranked Rodri behind is criminal.
After looking at those positions I'll waste my time in other threads.

It really is just a load of very deliberate clickbait bollocks. They make a big thing of their panel of 'experts' to try and legitimise it but even the football writers at the Guardian can't possibly believe some of the nonsense in this list each year. Just designed to create BTL outrage and traffic.

In defense of the list and the difficulties of making it no one has a precise definition of what is a better footballer , it is rather subjective. Also the time constraints of when you make the list and who has seen the footballers etc will make it difficult.
They do seem to have recruited a large number of peole who should be at least reasonable observers of the game to make it but inevitably many of them will only have seen relatively small amounts of high exposure coverage of some players rather than have had a regular review of their games.
With respect to Rodri, I don't know when the votes were cast and exactly what period people were looking at but it is relatively recently that his outstanding form has come to many peoples notice.
People on this forum were questioning him towards the end of last season. Pep did not pick him for the CL final and Enrique preferred Busquets in the Euros. I don't really blame outsiders for ranking him lower than I would.

2020

brazil’s first choice goalkeeper, and premier league golden glove winner (despite not playing with any of the list’s top 16 defenders or top 9 holding midfielders): 89th

brazil’s second choice goalkeeper, playing behind 3 of the top 6 defenders and 2 of the top 3 holding midfielders: 26th

fuck me, any list that suggests blunderland was 63 places higher than ederson the year liverpool won the covid cup, might as well be printed on bog roll
