The Harry Kane Team 2017/18

I am convinced Spurs have no ambition under Levy, I wasnt aware he was in charge when Modric went, or Bale, players had they kept who would be making a decent team right now. I would have expected them to keep players like that and build on it, but Walker is another example, they see the money and take it without really replacing what they lost.

They are a feeder club imo, they wont achieve anything under Levy with his slow build of the club approach and if they do Kane will be approaching 30
Bale and Modric both wanted to leave. Most clubs sell when players want to go.

Their posion dwarf manager shouting the odds again , Morata is crap and he didnt want to compete with Kane for a place in the team , (nothing to do with Spurs having no dosh because they are spending £750m building the new synagogue) , and Walker is a declining force and was quite happy to see him leave , perhaps the Argie poison dwarf can start giving it the big'un when he's actually f*cking won something , otherwise he should leave multiple managerial trophy winners like Pep and Conte alone.

I think you really need to take a chill pill mate. Even with your subtle anti semetic views the rest is a load of old bollocks

Yep Modric and Bale put in transfer requests. Modric wanted to go to Chelsea originally and Bale always wanted to go to Real at a young age. When Real come calling you pretty much can't do anything about it. Even United buckled to them

Despite the pisscan claiming he wouldn't sell them a virus!

Hypocritical twat!

Take your point about Levy bringing stability and top six, but I mainly think that is Pochentino, though it probably comes from Levy's stable approach to things.

But City's privelge has nothing to do with it, and I dont expect Spurs to spend £200m. I do expect them (After nearly achieving last season) to build on the good team/manager they have. Instead they sell their best fb and the owners is talking about not buying big money players.... It just feels like spurs through and through, always going to be mid table.

I don't think Spurs have any choice in the matter, however hard Levy and Pochettino spin it. The banks simply will not allow them to spend big while Spurs owe them £400m. And the crazy fees and wages being quoted just spook the banks more.

Also Pochettino deserves credit but Spurs were a top six side under Jol and Redknapp.

Pochettino and Conte are both coming across as a right pair of wankers this summer. Shame as I liked Poch, but his comments about Walker show a lack of class. I do think Spurs will struggle this season. No new signings and there's only so far you can go before the likes of Alli and Kane say they want out.

I think Spurs are a talented team, with a manager who's doing an excellent job and Levy, who for all the criticism and jibes aimed at him, is also doing remarkably well. I didn't agree with his speech on unsustainable spending, but it's hard to be too critical of his work at Spurs. What would concern me though is the attitude of some Spurs fans. We beat them 3-0 in a pre-season friendly, but we're assured that such games "don't matter" by some Spurs supporters. Clubs may not win trophies in such games, and players may not be match sharp, but they certainly matter - players are playing for their places and are trying to hone their reflexes and reactions for the competitive season and you don't do that unless you give it 100%, even if that may not be tha same as 100% in September. City were clearly a lot, lot sharper and this is not because we are ahead "in our preparation" since that was only our third "warm up" game as it was Spurs. City have spent and, it seems, spent well. Areas which were weaknesses now seem strengths, and Spurs must consider City a title/top four rival. It may be food for thought for Levy.
Simione said yesterday that he didn't know what a "friendly" was and that Atletico try to win every game, I like that attitude

If I was Levy I'd say I've done a bloody good job up to now but he's in a similar position of Pochetino, come close but achieved nothing yet.

As far as I'm concerned Levy's job is to try & make Spurs become the most successful team possible. Whenever you have a leadership role success is measured in a number of areas & financial security although essential is only one of these areas. You need success on the pitch, surely & I would say "Community".

1. Financial
2. Success
3. Community

In all these areas Spurs have the potential to be successful or they could fail. The billionaire backers don't seem to be as keen as City's billionaire backers to take a risk yet City are now a sustainable club for the first time in 130 years. I don't understand the fear, the fact that they are in London gives them a huge competitive advantage over City to fill their stadiums with tourists. The economic climate for football is vastly different to the times before Sugar saved them. Did I hear Joe Lewis is worth more than Abramovich, not sure.

Sustained success will not happen without finance, it's up to Levy to find it. How or who from I'm not sure but just as a Managers job is to get the board to back him, the Chairman needs to get investors to back him.

Community - Really charging your own more than any other, they are a funny lot in London but when you look what City do with their community I think they've a long way to go.

So he's done ok, great potential but there are a couple of things that always confused more about Levy & that was his ability to see the job through, does he really have a vision for the club.

You've only got to look at his choice for last 5 managers,

Ramos
Redknapp
AVB
Sherwood
Pochetino

Now I'm not a betting man but I might have a cheeky flutter on john Terry being the next manager.

I am not sure Sugar saved Spurs. When he took over Spurs were what was then the Big 4. When he left he had destroyed the brand (which has never recovered) and they were lower to mid table strugglers. Levy stopped them going the same way as Leeds, Villa, Forest and Blackburn.

I think Levy agrees with you. You cant have success without big money. That is why he is putting £700m+ into the stadium to generate those revenues.

Is he committed? I think so. The Guggenheims were in for Spurs last year. He didn't sell. Facebook this year. He didn't sell.

The plan is to get the stadium built and the NFL franchise and then sell big. The question is whether he can keep Spurs relevant while he pays off the stadium ? With Pochettino I think he believes he has a chance.

The biggest fail in for Sugar was failing to build the club up and take advantage of the first big TV money injection, that could of really made a difference. My memories of then were simply mid table with a cup run thrown in.

ENIC won't sell Spurs until they have seen the move to the new stadium and hopefully won some silverware. As they are an investment company their aim is to extrapolate as much profit as they can. Both Levy and Lewis are club fans so i have trust in them, of course there has been mistakes along the way but if you compare us as a club now to when they took over he has done an amazing job. Even more so when you see the money gap between us and the rest of the top 6. Rome or in this case, Tottenham, wasn't built in a day.

Next couple of seasons are really key for Spurs. The new stadium looks fantastic and will up the income no doubt. But if you stand still in this league you go backwards.
The likes of City, Liverpool and Utd (allegedly) and Everton have all improved. Be interesting to see if you can maintain last seasons form this year and next year without any substantial additions to the squad. I think Poccetino is keeping his fingers crossed he can keep the squad together and fight off any big offers come in. It'll be interesting. Six big clubs and only 4 spots for Champs League each year. Europa League makes it so difficult to maintain a PL challenge that its only worth it if you can win it.
I suspect Arsene will play the kids and might get knocked out at the League stage this year.

I think we will make 2-3 signings this summer we have £60M from player sales. RWB cover and competition for Son, Ali and Eriksen and il be content going into the season.

He can't. He doesn't own them.

Who?

And your point is ?

I'd agree there was a semetic comment not sure if was anti Semitic. I have often heard Spurs fans singing "'Yid Army" which is that?

Again you seem to forget the privileged position City find themselves in.

Spurs simply do not have the £200m+ that City can invest in players. Particularly as Spurs have just borrowed £400m to invest in their stadium.

As for always being a top six club, after Sugar had finished with them, Spurs they were lower to mid table strugglers.

Levy has taken them back to the top 6 or 7 but Spurs still have far less resources available than the other top six sides and Everton.
He'd hit the wank wall if his team manager was Wenger.

It's all about the balance sheets, not team glory. Building the commercial brand with an occasional cup final to boost it.
