Who gives a shit? If he wants to be a blue let him be a blue.

I became a blue back in 97 cos before that i was more into Rugby, just to boost you're ego, that will probably make you a bigger blue than me too. Who gives a shit when we started supporting City, the fact is we are all blues and all support the same team.

Ricster you fucking glory hunting joker! 97 eh! How dare you jump on the gravy train then. I can just imagine you now, "oh i must get into soccer too much of this this rugger is making me gay" You pick up the saturday pink, you see the names, whitley, edghill, pollock and the great jason van blerk. "oi taxi driver moss side at the double" and thus a blue is born.

I've got a good mind to ring timmmmahhh so we can come round and give you a good startling one dark morning.

Re: the dickhead in soccer am

I've known other people who've changed their support. My best mate at school was a Liverpool fan in the seventies. When I saw him a few years ago he was a rag.

Brother in law comes from a big rag family and was brought up as a rag. He started supporting Chelsea to piss his dad off and then when he was in his twenties he started going to see City with a few of his City supporting mates back in the dark days of the old third division. He went home and away for years and was still a blue when he died earlier this year.

Kids get brainwashed by their parents so it's easy to see why some change their team when they are old enough to make their own minds up.

Personally speaking, I've always been blue and the thought of supporting someone else has never even entered my head. I don't even have a second team. City or no one and fuck the rest.

Never, you are either born into a family of supporters of a club, it is usually your local club and you support them through thick and thin
I would stop following football if I stopped supporting city but that ain't going to happen, so changing teams for me is not normal behaviour and I would question why anyone would do it

PMSL. I should have added my dad is a life long Blue, and it was only natural to follow in his footsteps. I remember David White, the Brightwell's, Redmond, Lake, etc just i wasn't into football. Suppose i had City in my heart, just not in my head.

Has to be a wum

Being from Glasgow originally, I've never really supported an English team until I started seeing my Manc missus a few years ago. She and her family are all City die hards.
I started to go to the odd game with her unlce whenever I was down and was hooked.

Now I live down here with my girl and our baby. Can't get to games as often coz of the little one but I'm there whenever I can. Don't understand how people can change teams though.

So lets get this right, anyone who starts supporting us from now on is a glory hunter? How are we to grow as a club? Who will fill the seats midweek for the Carling Cup ties? Who will fill the seats for European games against minnows like Juventus? Do you think Sheik Mansour has spent/will spend all that money to stay exactly as we were? We still seem to have plenty of empty seats available for our modest 48000 seater stadium. If you want the club to progress then I suggest everyone welcomes new supporters. Maybe they will have kids who support City from the cradle to the grave and fulfil the "lifetime support" ideal. I have been a City season ticket holder since 1974 and welcome anyone who puts their bum on a seat and supports City. People change. Clubs change. It's called progress.
