Nothing is really a permenant feature but you might better enjoy recent activity page:

It can be accessed under the Members bit rather than the Forum bit

You can invite another user into the conversation. Not sure that can isolate one PM, maybe copy-paste? But it allows groups PMs which I think might be quite cool for certain users :)

Tried that but I think you can only invite other users if the original sender allows it via the tick box.
