The idiocy (and selfishness) of panic buying

It must have been as many on here kept telling us.

Day after day.

After day.
After hour after hour after hour…

Soneone can post some facts, and then the usual suspects spend hours posting random pieces from newspapers and Twitter that may or may not have any facts in or have anything to do with what you’ve said, and discussing nonsense for a bit to add to it, to make sure the facts are drowned and hidden away pages ago so they’re quickly forgotten.

Very good saw what you did there. :-)
Maybe more of a case here we don't go again.
On a serious note though the press wankers really don’t do this country any service, whatsoever. DM headline saying a third of people are stockpiling for Xmas as there’s likely to be no food..
Of course, like the petrol ‘crisis’ if they’d just stfu and not encourage the public to make sure there are shortages, there would rarely be any.

Perhaps they should crack on that the vaccines are about to run out, given the fact that there are still over 2 million over 60‘s (you know, the ones that will end up in hospital or dead) who’ve not had one jab, let alone 2...

Hard to believe that many haven't been fully vaccinated given the danger.
I hardly think there's a food crisis in this country we probably throw away more than most people in the World ever see.

Because we’re a nation of greedy bastards who want, want, want…. But not what they actually need. The food wasted in this country is criminal.

Back by popular demand the bog roll hoarders

Yeh!
I still have a mountain leftover since the last panic buy...

Just a hint if it happens again. Costco never actually ran out last time.
They did limit people to one giant bail (per visit) of it though.
Bit pointless when you could visit as many times as you liked...

Is the petrol thing still a thing?
Apparently the next shortage is cling film btw
Still not back to normal in the south east and london but much better than it was

I brought some loo roll today , just nine rolls and i needed it ,had it delivered so no idea what the stores are like , had to look at three different online supermarkets to find one that had all i need, usually they all have so some shortages i think

Two petrol stations near me were both empty last night. Got petrol at the third one I visited.

Costco always has a queue outside 5 minutes before it opens on a Sunday
I had a quick look and I think there's just the one picture of someone who's got multiple packs of loo roll, for all I know they run a corner store and sell it.

The DM is a shite paper deliberately driving this 'panic buying' narrative in order to generate clicks.
