The idiocy (and selfishness) of panic buying

I’ve just been in Asda & Saw a fella whose trolley was full to the brim with hand sanitisers, baby wipes, soaps, everything that people need!!
I called him a selfish c£&t & briefed him about the elderly, mums etc who need these types of things I also told him he should be f@£king ashamed of himself!
He said: “That’s all well and good mate but can I carry on filling the shelves now?”

Rolling news footage of empty shelves must be fuelling panic buying no end. Surprised the media hasn't been asked to dial down some of the reporting of it.
It's self-fulfilling.

Some Idiots panic-buy so there is nothing left. Then normal, reasonable people cannot find what they need. And then when some stock appears, would-be normal people think I had better buy 2x what I need, because I couldn't get it last time. And it spirals out of control.

Things WILL get back to normal, because you can only wipe your arse so often. When people have 9,000 bog rolls and 800 tins of beans, they will probably stop buying them. I just wish people would take it easy somewhat before then.

Neighbours across the road get a regular Asda home delivery every Saturday morning, fine, today's turns up , no problem. An hour later they are unloading the boot of a large SUVs full of groceries. I told the tw#ts if I see them doing it again I will contact Asda about their delivery,

Latest news, I,ve complained to Asda, hope they lose their home delivery.

thanks to all who have been concerned enough to leave messages and advice and support Although we have a great tradition of all pulling round in a crisis i feel angry that its taken so long for the supermarkets to act responsibly allowing the selling of open quantities has made the situation in
tolerable those pictured with stocks of items obviously have a sod you im alright Jack attitude I WISH YOU ALL a healthy virus free weekend

Sorry to hear about your difficulties my friend it's getting tougher isn't it? The only way I have found that you can get anywhere near enough to a reasonable normal shop is to go to a big supermarket outlet early doors when it first opens get what you can, then follow that up with a trip to the high street namely BM's, butchers, bakers etc and an amble round the surplus stores poundshops Heron foods and the like.

For you that might be a very challenging if not impossible thing to do and it makes me angry and sad at the same time. I sincerely hope you and your mum and dad get through this surreal start of the lockdown and you finally get a chance to shop for what you need. This morning I am shopping for a relative who is not able to do this (Work related he's a delivery driver and working ridiculous hours) and hope I can get the bits that he needs, I am cooking him and his son a meal tonight before I lock my doors completely for the duration my only respite being the corner shop for some essentials.
cheers for advice

My job involves selling into the print industry and most of my business is with large carton producers (mostly food). My biggest customer does a lot of work for cereals for instance and they are ramping up production as the major producers are seeing sales soar. There is absolutely no prospect of shortages yet the shelves are stripped bare of these items.

I think the only prospects of shortage is if/when there's nobody to produce, transport or actually sell the stuff.

Got to be done!

Top post! I can feel your anger through the words haha

Fair play to the store n’all.

Cheers P.C
Like I said just glad the oaps got looked after by the staff,
Went to the new gf,s gaff, after even tho abit late & one off her neighbour's seen it,she telling her as I walked in & she can't get her head around what the pricks are doing, she been here 12yrs & works with the elderly & a very caring loveable girl.
She calmed me down with some lòoooooooving..

I would not be so complacent as to think that imported food stuff supplies are not at risk if this continues.

I called boots to see if my perscripton is ready,i have to go out and get it,they are next to tesco and i asked if there were a lot of people about, she said it is like dec 25th x 10

When you strip this all back and when this is all over the conclusion will be that this country is full of selfish twats.

The same people who drive round in 4 x 4s and BMWs who think they own the road, the same people who think society owes them a living and the same people who only care about themselves and are up their own arses. The millennium generation has a lot of these and it's bad parenting that's to blame
Said it before this country is finished.
