The Independent Group

There’s supposed to be more Labour MP’s planning to join but they’ve agreed to do it on a staggered basis. Can see more Tories jumping ship as well. Could end up with 30+ by the time March 29th comes around.

Just like to add that my guess of 40 (see below) came about 5mins before this was announced.
Lets have another prediction round?

How many members of the Ind Group by the close of business 31st March (or total defections, i guess some might want to sit on their own!).
My Guess 40.

I'll put you down for 32 PB"!

Tories+DUP have now officially lost their majority, to add to realistically losing it before Christmas.

No, it's still there - Sinn Fein MPs don't sit remember.

It's down to 5 though.

On a more general point, the TIGgers will need to decide what they want to do here. If they genuinely wish to be seen as a new, rational centrist party, they could do with gaining someone who isn't hellbent on stopping Brexit no matter what the poll results. Or they could embrace it totally and call themselves Remain And Sod The Lot of You.

What they can't do is pretend it isn't the case that they're all of this view so far, that would get picked apart quickly. So up to them how they want to play that.

Having a majority solely because Sinn Fein don't sit is a bit shaky, but you are right, I'd forgotten them.
I'd say they'll go for option B, it's the only thing they have in common at the minute really.

324/641 at the moment?

(7 SF, speaker, Paul Flynn's vacancy)
