I'd rather they just left us alone as well. This will do me fine. I'm sure there will be plenty of talk about us after today's game. If we win, then we might be contenders, if we lose or draw, we'll just be flattering to deceive and not really up for it!

To be honest, I think there are as many of our own fans who don't see us as a contender yet as pundits. I'm not one of them though. I think we'll be in the title race come April. I think Ancelotti is probably of the same view. He said at the start of the season that he wanted to have a gap between us and them by the time we played them, and indeed there was, but now there is a chance that the gap may (should be) two points with eight games played and Balotelli and Kolarov yet to come back. Dismiss us at your peril in my opinion. I don't think Slur Taggart O'Baconface (speaking through the most rat-ish offspring of Neville Neville) or Ancelotti are as stupid and blindsided as the media though. They know City are here.

Mancini says Chelsea will win the league, Fletcher says Chelsea will win the league - which point have I missed 'wildly'?

The op was making the point that fletcher mentioned rags and arse as contenders but not us. Nothing to do with Chelsea being favourites or what Mancini said fella, hence you missing the point.

Be interesting to see the build up to the game today on the TV. Will it be "City can go second and within a win of overtaking Chelsea at the top" or will it be "City must be favourites to beat the Premier League new boys and go second, for a week anyway" [until the rags inevitably win again and push us down]

And if we do win, MOTD2 might be interesting. The relegation game will still take top billing though. In fact, with only 2 games on, they will have to specially shorten the show to make sure we only get the usual few minutes at the end.
