We were 'joint second on points', like the rags are joint top 'on points' but in real terms they are 2nd

Just out of curiosity (as this is very unlikely) but does anyone know what would happen if after the final game of the season 2 teams were actually 'joint' top (ie same points, same goal difference)?
Would they have to play a 'play off'?

yes, we didnt finish second last season, chelsea did. we were third although level on pointsRascal said:Clearly the media have this wrong
The rags are not joint top with us, they are clearly second. Spurs could only have gone joint top today by winning 20-0 or something.
"joint" anything only applies when we are bottom of the joint scenario. I.e if we were second, we would be joint top, but as we are actually top the joint rule does not apply.
Hope that helps.
