I think we have more important matters than organising a campaign to get a stand based "The Kippax"
It's not a competition

First 2 replies have answered your question and nailed it.Not on Kippax Street
We could call one the Kippax, One Maine Rd and one Hyde Rd and the last One Pep Terrace :)Why would we? No one is considering naming one of the stands "The Hyde Road Stand". Silly suggestion.
Let's do a proper job and get the old haphazard mis match style roofs going on

Never too late. Stories can continue throughout a clubs history. The club just needs to do a campaign around jt. The rags are talking having a stretford end at their new stadium. Why wouldn't we?
You said the club needs to do a campaign. It's not a competition
Geography has a lot to do with it.Surely geography doesn't matter.
jackie or lorraineGet the bird back hanging from the roof as well.

I recall when after redevelopment at the swamp, the Stretford End was changed to the East Stand and I read the reason being is emergency services needed to know which stand to go to in the event of an emergency.
How would the driver of the fire engine or ambulance (if not a rag) know which end was the Scoreboard End or United Road end etc. Yet they would easily be able to work out which end they were needed if using points of a compass (and yes if there was a fire they could look for the smoke before someone asks!)
I think this is why most new builds today retain the compass points as names bar the odd Colin Bell type stand.
Too much water from the roof though.Or if the swamp was ablaze not knowing which stand was on fire the fire brigade could kid on they didn't know and watch it burn :)

Why not call the north stand "THE GASWORKS END"We could call one the Kippax, One Maine Rd and one Hyde Rd and the last One Pep Terrace :)
well done for getting it to three pages... shouldn't have made it past three posts
Because the gas works is no longer there ;)Why not call the north stand "THE GASWORKS END"
