I thought I'd made it in life, when i left my parents to the wooden benches of Platt Lane and joined the 'big boys' of the Kippax. You certainly had to grow up fast on there!

Do you remember you were allowed to climb over the wall at the bottom of the Platt Lane and go into the Kippax if you fancied it... certainly for some games anyway

Never ever forget my first walk up the steps and into the Kippax as a boy for my first ever game.
November 1977 we got beat by Leeds 2-3, but the result was immaterial as I had just been ordained a blue.
Went on there as a boy and years later left there as a man, a forever City fan

Oh the memories.
Aerial bombardments of Bottles of piss, darts, coins.
You staked a claim on your place and that was yours for evermore.

Too young to remember the original but this was my first game and I was on a roofless Kippax for it. Still have vague memories of being lifted up in the air for a goal. Some Germans in the Parkside gave me a tenner as well.
