The knee-jerk reaction thread

Right dickheads , just in case you didn't realise , SILVA Has been playing for weeks in severe pain in his right ankle.

He has put his body on the line for us.

Fuckin muppets.

Only three of today's starting eleven are really good enough to command a regular stating spot next year
Hart
Fernandinho
Aguero

Sterling I believe will eventually come good, the other seven are either out of their depth or well past their best and that includes fans favorites Silva and Zabba

I hope Guardiola has a big list and we have plenty to spend

It's not knee jerk , it what needs to happen.

I would like to think Ferny could and should command a regular spot but it depends on how he adapts to what clearly needs to be and should be a far more assertive press and a midfield that has to win the vast majority of 50/50 balls that can support the defence when we don't have the ball.

You're spot on but I couldn't resist.

Silva does appear to be in a downward slide since he got that injury for Spain. His away performances have been decidedly mediocre and even at home his work rate and desire aren't of the required standard. We all want to see him back to his past glories and I am massive Silva fan but I wouldn't be surprised if he's not here under Pep if his recent form continues. Zaba's best years are definitely behind him and he's been a warrior but we desperately need 2 need full backs for next season.

I am all for seeing Silva in the side and to assume he is finished is ridiculous but if he is in that much pain every week then perhaps he shouldn't be playing because he isn't playing well and I don't want to see him get injured further. We are in the shit injury wise and I can see why he is being played as we have no creativity at all without DB and him but if he makes this worse then we could be in trouble.

It's funny how so many are trying to get across how big a fan they are of Silva before going onto say in the next breath that he'll be gone next year if he doesn't improve.
Absolute whoppers all over this board tonight. Pep will fucking love the idea of having a player like Silva in his squad.

It makes me angry that I'm on a City forum and having to defend Silva in the way I do.

In the 5 minutes i have been online i have read more shit about Silva than i have across every other teams board i browse on our own site.
If some of these posters are not wums or 12 they need to grow the fuck up and sort their shit out.

The situation is not perfect but some of these comments and pov are just complete bullshit.

You don't have to , you own opinions of him are more important than responding to what others think.

I think there is no doubt he playing with a bung ankle but I have always said he is a passenger when he pressed from go to whoa and has two men on him in positions on the pitch we get no value from him.

That's what happened to today and obviously it frustrates him.

In any case we will be without him for a while now.

Whether he needs a long rest or an operation I don't know but its obvious he is not the player for us this season than he has been in the past.

Silva = spent force. Wouldn't surprise me if he was one of the first out the door when pep arrives. Doesn't work
hard enough without the ball and is wasteful in possession. A recipe for disaster regarding Mr Guardiola.
FFS
Silva has been 1 of our most consistent players since he's been here. If he's not playing well, there usually is a physical reason for it.
He came back from injury, obviously not 100%, we could see that, yet you want him to chase someone down or stick a leg out *every* time? For a little guy,
I've always admired how stuck in he got at times, how tenacious he could be. That he hasn't
been doing that lately, shows me he wasn't physically up to it, not that he wasn't "arsed" or lazy.

Saying he's "wasteful" and "a recipe for disaster" for Guardiola-I am driven to despair sometimes at this place.

not saying we don't need full backs but i thought Zaba was ok today

Short sighted, impatient and no idea what it is to back a player who's given nothing but his very best for us over the years.
The speed in which 'fans' are writing him off is alarming. Fuck it, for as long as they're giving him grief I'm happy enough to give it right back.

An injury free one is imperative.

I don't know how bad the ankle is but hopefully its not chronic because it will shorten his playing career if it not properly attended to.

Pmsl at your fucking post history, have you ever said anything good about City you pathetic wum.

I don't agree with the first part mate. If he's getting stick on a board that's read by thousands then I do think it's important to respond.
Saying he's going through a bad spell is more than fair but the people writing him off and proclaiming pep will want rid need telling in the most simplistic terms that they're full of shit.

As good as Zaba has been for us , I suspect and would even hope he would be a squad player for us under Pep.

The current four we have are all nearing the end of their time at City.

I wouldn't like to see us start next season with the four we currently have.

We will be even less competitive next season if we do.
