The Knives Are Out Tonight

Let's get real here. It isn't ruining the game! The reason is it is already ruined. This has less and less to do with sport and more about entertainment. It has been like that since the premiership started and Sky got involved big-time.

I yearn for the old days in the '70s when any team could win the league and all the clubs had stars who were born, bred and bled for their clubs for their whole careers. Until the big fat bubble bursts completely however we will never see that again or the likes of Forest coming from nowhere to win the league and European Cup twice. But for those out there who see City as the new pariah... wake up! We didn't start it and we're not the cause of it.

The one big worry for me though and that is Hughes isn't up to this New World Order and most of us know it. This is way out of his stratosphere and if anything he will hold us up achieving what could be reached and may deter others from joining in. I hope if we do get Kaka, Messi, Villa, Gattuso et al that Jose or someone like him is not too far away before it goes pear-shaped by a manager who thinks he can 'train' these players instead of fine-tuning them.

for once ... your not talking rubbish hahahaha

I actually enjoy their jealousy. The fuckers know that soon we will be the strongest team in the world, and they are all just shitting themselves. The more shit they talk about City the more they fear us.

it isn't "ruining the game." it IS the game. and guess what, Wigan? YOU LOSE.

that game that pundits are longing for, as Elanos_Right_Boot pointed out, died when the premiership formed around TV rights. welcome to the new world order. you can love it, you can hate it, you can leave it and love the lower divisions, but you can't change it back.

Sorry folks am going to rant but why the fook does setanta have Paul Parker talking about it fook all too do with that rag cuont these comment i have heard from all corners of the media is pathetic here is just three......

"City are going to buy Stanley Matthews,George Best and Marradona as well as Kaka."

"It would be funny if Kaka signed and had a career ending injury"

"City are ruining football whilst Chelsea are running there club like a proper business and Utd will win the league"

These are meant to be professional people and to say things like this just shows how jealous these rag loving pricks really are.It shows how biased they are i don't know weather you have noticed but they have to mention how perfect there fooking shitty London based fooking clubs are when they finish slagging us off.Arrgggg feels better now.

trouble is thick tossers have short memories. On the subject of Dave "dodgy" Whelan this was the knobheada few seasons ago who charged city fans 36 quid to rip us off. Hes your typical ex-rag once they've been there any shite excuse will do to support their story hope to god we bury these bastards on satday.

People want more songs at Eastlands....sing it loud and proud NO ONE LIKES US WE DONT CARE. Half the shit on BBC comments are Rags slating us for going for Kaka and apparantly losing the plot. Fuck me for our beloved club showing ambition and becoming an emerging threat to the top four monopoly. Blue moon is rising you Rag c***s!

I don't give a toss what anyone says, if our owners want him, buy him, if our owners want Messi get him too. If they want Villa to partner Messi up front I am loving it (I am sure Robbie won't mind playing in a three man attack). If our owners want Diego from Werder Bremmen as back up for SWP bring it on. If it costs them a billion to bring these players to city good let them pay it. You can't ruin something that is already broken because of dominance of the so called big four. All we need now is Baconface to start the can't buy sucess argument again and we will know we have the buggers worried. I for one am going sit back and enjoy the ride. If MH can't handle these so called world superstars bring someone in who can. Sick to death of us not winning owt, our time has come. Rant over.

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan believes Manchester City would "ruin the heart and soul of football" if they signed Kaka for £100million.

City reportedly approached AC Milan over a possible move for the Brazil playmaker, with a nine-figure fee rumoured to be on the cards, although the player later said he wants to "grow old" with the Rossoneri.

Whelan, who is facing a battle to keep stars including Emile Heskey and Amr Zaki with the Latics, believes the sums of money mooted are bad news for the sport.

"If this kind of deal is the kind of deal which is about to take place it will ruin the heart and soul of football," he told Sky Sports News.

City have already flexed their recently acquired financial muscles by spending £32.5m of new owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan's money on Robinho on the last day of the summer transfer window.

And Whelan added: "If some Arabian fellas or oil-rich sheikhs come in and pay £90million for a player, that is totally barmy.

"If Manchester City come in and offer that I think the game will suffer in the end."
I think he would

I don't know the man's 'previous', but I'd be very surprised if it was either one of the 'Big Four' who made a bid in the amount of THREE TIMES the previous record transfer record, with a commitment to paying the player the equivalent of 350% of the existing highest wage he wouldn't similarly shout 'STOP'!
