The Labour Government

Again, we are not a petro state in the Gulf. We are an advanced service and consumer economy in Europe and competing with other advanced service and consumer economies in Europe.

But if you are happy to accept immigrants provided you can be mean to them, then that is progress of sorts I guess. Baby steps.

That is the opposite of what I said , you must know that so I can only presume that is to deflect from your original claim that you have now gone back on , that we wouldn't be able to attract guest workers.

Tbf I was amused by that , but it's not the right answer. What is her main residence ?
BBC made it lead story this morning despite explaining that her main residence was in Hove, as she had relinquished any title to the marital home.

Do you know different or are you just shit stirring on behalf of the Tories (like the BBC)?

It really is an attack on democracy, where the media have a daily assault to shape people’s perceptions.

Huge misinformation, and the weak-willed and ignorant take it as gospel.

Never seen anything like it.

Fact checking on stories has long since disappeared. Story in The Daily Express to day about a local hotelier who had used his hotel for migrants. Was described as luxury in the article. This is the same hotel the was featured in The Hotel Inspector. When she commented on the shabby state of the interior he commented that most of his guests were elderly and had very poor vision

I don't think all the facts of the matter have yet been uncovered but it appears she has ( perfectly legally) claimed her main home is whichever is the most beneficial to her for taxation purposes at various times as she required, aided by Shoosmiths.
To be clear, that's exactly what I would do.
However I am not the Deputy Leader of the Labour Party or the Minister for Housing I do not make it my business to pontificate on how people buying second homes price locals out of the property market, or pronounce judgement on others who ( perfectly legally) practice tax avoidance et etc
I don't care if she has five houses so long as she bought them with her own earned money, I don't care if she legally avoids taxation on her properties.
Its the hypocrisy !
Socialism makes hypocrites of all but the most saintly. I don't think Big Ange is a saint

You came up with the solution to the UK’s declining birthrate, averting population decline and demographic imbalance?

This will be welcome news to every advanced economy on the planet. Bluemoon is a truly wonderful resource.

Can you remind me again?
No.
As I have already said Bob, your argument is already lost , it is economicaly unsustainable and politically untenable.
It simply isn't going to happen yet you seem unable to move on from the orthodoxy of 20 years ago and countenance anything else.

Oh, dear. Never mind, Roger. Don’t be discouraged.

You don't care? So just your bias and the media's is why perfectly legal behaviour is front page news. And I assume misogyny.

Did you make any fuss about Kemi Badenoch renting a 6-bed home in her constituency with the taxpayer picking up the rent and council tax?

Like the Rayner outrage, and then it turns out that she’s done absolutely nothing wrong. At least we’re not getting too much of that bullshit on here, I’d like to think that Blues on here are capable of critical thinking rather than slavishly copy and pasting utter bollox.

Come on now mate.

Nothing advances the working class cause, or the progress of social justice, like a Tameside MP who lives in London buying a property in Hove and claiming it to be their primary residence for the purposes of tax evasion. Nor of course employing the services of a tax avoidance company in the process.

That’s why the various stooges on here are lining up to defend it all, and why they get so animated at any suggestion of hypocrisy. Because Rayner’s actions, and the loss of revenue for the Treasury, fit so well with the high tax, hard left agenda that they spend 18 hours a day pushing on here.

There’s no decline in the birth rate in our major cities and certainly no population decline in the UK, we had large amounts of immigrants in the 1960s,70s,80s,90, 00s,10, and now in the 20s. Public finances are a disaster services are over stretched. Just how long do we continue with this balmy idea that the country must have mass immigration.

There is an answer but it involves spending money and probably pissing off other groups. Incentivise working couples to have children, but this would mean much more affordable housing being built, significantly more paternity and maternity pay and leave, creating completely free state funded childcare for children from birth through to school age for working parents, mandating flexible working practices from employers as a legal right and tax breaks for dare I say it, more traditional family structures whether that be people in civil partnerships or married.

The problem for most working couples is that they just can afford it.

Would it stop the need for all immigration, no but it would reduce it.

With the advent of AI we may not need as many people to support the population pyramid due to higher productivity per worker assuming that the government could raise more tax from the increased productivity and it didnt go to shareholders.

The final point I suppose is that the population pyramid issue will only last for a few generations. At some time you will reach a point where the baby boomers are no longer around and the population tree is less top heavy. Maybe and this is a bit erm controversial we should let people when they get in their 90s pass away and not continue this drive to keep people with failing bodies alive by using cocktails of drugs trying to beat death.

I appreciate some of the things Ive said are controversial but difficult problems require difficult discussions.

Just a reminder of how many millions Tory MPs made from replacing rates on their several houses with the poll tax.

And I know you're all a bit mad, but even you surely don't take seriously the Daily Mail. "The Deputy PM bought the smart £800k seaside apartment in Hove to add to her burgeoning property empire." Just remind us how many homes she actually owns in this "empire".

It's ridiculous.
