The Labour Government

Do you really believe that the PM wouldn’t have been made aware of the new emails until they were proven to be true, even if officials were aware that they were about to be published by a major UK newspaper? About an issue as sensitive as this?

Also, this idea that Starmer couldn’t be told about the new emails before Mandelson had confirmed or denied their authenticity is the least believable thing about the whole affair. If Mandelson had denied their authenticity, would Starmer had stood by him?

The whole story is a mess and lacks any credibility. The balance of probabilities very strongly points to Starmer lying.
So now you’re leaning towards probability than fact

They may very well point to that, maybe not, or complete incompetence on behalf of his team.

Either way, you stated it as fact and it is not.

I’m sure we’ll get the full facts and we can then judge appropriately.

To believe a sitting PM isnt aware of security services advice on appointments is for the fairies.

He was aware, he ignored advice and it’s now bit him in the arse and worse still, he continued to lie about it until the last minute again like he did last week with Raynor.

The man is an idiot and his own worse enemy

What was the Security Services advice?

I’m in no mood to play you’re game.

Listen to the news, read reports or even google and find out.

Your man is in huge political trouble and you know it.
You know the rules…

You can’t say he’s in huge political trouble until you send him an email asking if he’s in huge political trouble, and you’ve had a response from him confirming it.

Only then can you bring it to our attention.

I mean, you might want to get him on the phone so you can ask him straight away, but if Peter Mandelson can’t be reached by phone for 48 hours then I suppose Keir Starmer can’t either.

Thinking about it, it is a bit of a shame that they couldn’t get Mandelson on the phone on the Tuesday or the Wednesday morning, rather than waiting for him to reply to his emails. That way the raft of civil servants working at No.10 could have told Starmer about the new Epstein emails maybe 12 to 24 hours after they got the media enquiry, rather than the 24 - 48 hours the official story suggests.

Still it all makes sense and why would anyone question it?

He’s not my man. And if you didn’t notice, I’m highlighting huge failings in basic stuff.

If he wasn’t briefed, why not? This had possible major consequences for UK trade, and cause harm for those affected by Epstein. Surely his team should have briefed him accordingly before he had to make comment? You may not like Starmer but he’s not an idiot. No way would he walk into PM Qs to purposefully lie.

You stated that the security services had issues with the appointment, which I can full well believe, but why are those that are meant to hold the security of our country, and keep these things ‘secure’, leaking stuff to the media?

And for DV/EV, it shows that somebody can hide information that cannot then be verified unless something like this came out. Mandelson thought that those e-mails had died with Epstein, and even when they came out, refused to do the right thing and resign.

I’ll leave it there on the issues this has brought up, but let me say it clear. If Starmer has lied he will have to face the consequences. My concerns aren’t for one person, whoever that may be or whatever party they are, mine are for the failures at every level that still haven’t been resolved from previous governments. This country needs a focussed government to get it moving, and the issues highlighted don’t allow for that.

Anyway, Derby Day. Let’s all hope it’s a Blue Sunday.

I'm sure Starmer and his colleagues are not all thick. But what I find completely staggering is just how completely inept they are at this politics lark. They are absolutely clueless at it.

They don't seem to have learned anything at all about the fact that in politics, appearances matter. The words you use, matter. It's not only about policies (although I disagree with pretty much all of them), it's how it's presented.

If Starmer or Rayner had given so much as a passing thought about this, neither of them would be in the dire trouble they've found themselves these last 2 weeks.

And it's not just those two, it's all of them. 150,000+ people turned up to that rally in London yesterday, and there was a golden opportunity for Mahmood to say, "we hear you", but what does she say? In terms, "far right thugs will feel the full force of the law". Well that's going to get them all voting for her isn't it. Not. They (Labour ministers) are completely incapable of reading any room

what difference does appeasing 150,000 Tommy Robinson marchers make ? Labour will be hated by them lot no matter what they do or say.

GB News tonight report that one of the Sunday newspapers has an article in which it claims Rachel from Accounts has been side-stepped as Chancellor. Starmer has appointed a budget committee reporting to him leaving Reaves virtually jobless.

Speculation is that she is being kept on as a useful scapegoat should the next budget fail, and it is hinted as a hard nosed budget.
Seems legit…

Pointless arguing with someone who just makes shit up. The government simply said that those assaulting police officers would feel the full force of the law. Can’t see what’s wrong with that. They went out of their way to say that everyone else had every right to protest and they refused to label them as far right. They did all they could not to alienate those that protested legally although they might as well have just called them all cunts because the Tommeh supporters make up their own version of reality to suit.
