The Lack of English Players

Last time we had a load of English players representing the club at Wembley it was Nicky Weaver, Lee Crooks, Richard Edghill, Tony Vaughn, Jim Whitley, Ian Bishop, Terry Cooke.
Remind me what level of football that was.....
The game has moved on, fans should too.

Jim Whitley English?
News to me :-)
(Oh and he didnt play at Wembley in THAT game :-)
but apart from that I agree with you

Maybe the media would like to point out all these English players that would be capable of getting in our first team.

The OP clearly didn't get the memo of modern England. The more you slag off your country, the better. I'm delighted to see so many people say they couldn't give a fuck. What a beautiful message this sends about modern day England. Not only do people here not care, they seem almost enthralled at the fact that their English club is owned by a foreigner with no local players. Modern football and modern day life is truly a glorious thing to behold. In Italy they have the Italian flag on most kits, if they tried to do that here, the English contingent would probably refuse it because it offends them. Absolute sinkhole country with a sinkhole attitude to our own.
The Italian flag is worn by the previous year's champions; it's not a voluntary embrace of nationalistic fervour.

And despite the problem being caused solely by the English people tasked with running the game, City's foreign owners are doing a hell of a lot more to try to reverse the dearth of English talent than anyone else involved in football, so kindly fuck off.

This is becoming a major problem because the quality gap between English players and the rest is widening, I couldn't name a single world class English player, Rooney is world class on his day but he isn't consistently one of the best. Hopefully with the investment we are putting into this side of football we will start to see some quality players, I for one am not bothered if they are English but it would be fantastic to have some players come through the academy. The Under-14's have already won the Premier League and the EDS is through to the last 8 of the UEFA Youth (Champions) League so it is coming together slowly, whether these lads have the quality to really step up to the requirements of the first team though we will see. Lopes has already shown that we have some really good lads coming through though and the vision at the moment is to concentrate on youth, with these young lads mixing with the likes of Yaya, Aguero etc, and with the experience of Vieira as their manager they will only come good!

Lets face it though, English coaching at the moment is in the pits mainly because we still have this way of coaching youngsters their work rate, toughness and physicalness in the game which is fine but it is not good enough to leave out technical ability. In Spain they just get 10 lads playing piggy in the middle in the smallest possible circle rather than 11 a side on a horrible pitch.

Does it bother you that English players aren't getting a look in under Pellegrini? With the exception of Joe Hart obviously. He prefers Demichelis to Lescott and Garcia to Milner.

I want Milner to start more games as I think he can be good for England in the World Cup. And Lescott should have played today, he deserved it more than Demichelis.
Why the fuck should city help England out?
Unlike you it didn't bother me that 11 foreigners started yesterday

We tried that with Sinclair and Rodwell and what bad transfers were those...

They arent even good enough four our bench.

If you are wearing the shirt,I don't give a fuck where you are from;you get my support.
If emptyhead(OP) could find any more reasons to shoe horn race or nationality into every thread,I wouldn't be surprised.
Should we have Aryan supermen only playing for City, should the team run out to Wagner, should we have apathied in the stands;all this and more brought to you by JOTL.

Yaya Toure and Nasri's goals were works of beauty. But they were not made in England. Irrelevant
