I remember in the 90s there were plenty of these - Paul Warhurst was one.

I'm talking about players released as kids, not transfers.

It used to really gall seeing successful players knowing we ballsed it up.

I'm struggling to think one one in the last 10-15 years. Ryan Giggs of course.

Can anyone think of one?

Wayne Hennessy, the Wolves keeper, came through our academy I think. And Glenn Whelan at Stoke.
 
Apparently Wes Brown had an appointment to see somebody at Maine Road when he was young.
He turned up but the person he was supposed to meet was off, and nobody else knew anything.
So he went to swamp.
 
Elano has been making a name for himself at Galatasary. Man of the match in 3 games so far.

conlon scred loads for darlington (i think)
dont forget Joey Barton who saved us & dragged newcastle to new hieghts
