The Linesman v Arsenal stood down (updated)

this is just play FA madness, the official was obviously having a joke, to stand him down for that is just plain daft, maybe cause they had to overturn vinnys red card, maybe they made him a scapegoat, unfair imo

This.

The lino should be getting a pat on the back.
Why stand him down.
What a pathetic bunch (is it the FA ?.)

It was great the Lino said that. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Just a shame the numpties who run the game don't see it that way.

Well said that man
Absolutely nothing wrong with what he said.
PC police are everywhere these days.

Nothing wrong with what the liner said. The refs association and FA need to get over themselves
Well have no characters left in the game FFS

Neither Arsenal nor the FA come out of this looking good even though it's probably understandable that the Lino's been stood down as there's probably a regulation which he's contravened...

Great publicity for the issue though. Not bad for us either! -)

References to it again at the weekend should definitely be made via the mediums of art and song, just to drive the point home like.

Mass Poznan on 62 minutes is my suggestion.

MCFC turning their backs on the establishment since 2008.

well he's lost at least £375 because of that, someone's livelihood we're talking about here.
£700. Absolute joke of a decision. If he gets demoted to the Championship he will only earn £50 per game.

Source: I worked with (albeit in a different dept) the liner who gave us the two penalties against Villa this season. He was demoted.

That is just fucking shit from the FA, terrible way to treat staff.

Isn't it!

Do they just punish "bad" decisions or do they also offer training/support of any kind? If not it shows how archaic an institution they are!

I wonder if Dean's going to miss a weekend...?

Apparently it's been done to keep him out of the media spotlight, not a demotion or a punishment.

Perhaps it's time to call off the hounds

'PC police'. Well done. No such thing.

His sentiments were correct but it was unprofessional of him to comment. Otherwise, 'independent' officials could start making all sorts of comments, some of which you might not applaud.
