I think today's events have left a very bitter taste in the mouth, we have replaced an inexperienced manager with another one with a typical Manchester City knee jerk reaction. I thought ADUG arriving at City would bring the stability we have craved but instead it looks as if we might turn into a power drunk mafia style mob who hire and fire at the drop of a hat.

I actually don't think I would be that upset if we were getting a proven experienced manager such as Gus Hiddink, I could then at least see the reasoning behind it but to get Roberto Mancini who has achieved absolutely nothing of value in football means we are jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Mark Hughes needed three years to mould the squad into the style and formation he wanted and he has been stopped halfway through doing a good job IMO, we have now gone back two years and have to start the process again with yet another manager who will want a new batch of players and so we are yet again no further on as a club.

I made an analagy earlier on this forum and I stick by it now, if we try to build a house and keep knocking it down just before we put the roof on we will never have a house. When will we learn as fans and as a club that we can't keep pressing the self destruct button.

Mark my words we will have a revolving door now at eastlands and will be swapping managers every six months, that kind of freakshow is the one thing the media were hoping to happen and they have got their way due to pure manipulation of some of the sheep types we have on this forum, I can only see unrest and heartache again for the next 30 years.

Very sad as we had the potential to build something good.

please look up the stats before you have a go.

he won the italian cup with florentina in 2001
he moved to lazio in 2002 and won the italian cup in 2004
in 2004 he moved to inter and won 2 italian cups, 2 italian super cups, 3 league titles.

also hughes is the past now, you cant bring him back! all your post will do is diminish Mancini's confidence (that is if he's on bluemoon, which he probably will be after a chat with GC ;) )

good luck Roberto! you have my backing mate!

You must be mad mate - three more years of Hughes making the wrong substitutions and picking the wrong players in the wrong positions. he has bad management skills and ADUG are extraordinary in their approach. Mancini is a class act and your house analogy is unduly pessimistic and also doesn't fit our new situation. Hiddink smiddink - he did not do that well at Chelsea. Mourhino played the most boring style of football ever seen in the EPL.

The future is bright my friend and not just because we have a philanthropic owner, but because we have great players in the squad and coming through.

Hughes and his Cronies have achieved nothing but spent a lot. Thank God he has gone and now maybe we can get to exploiting the world class talent of Robhino Bellamy Teves Ireland SWP Onuoha and Given especially Robhino, who the press seem to hate.

Like I say I am not comfortable with the appointment as I would have preferred a more experienced manager but I promise I as I hope all City fans will, I will get behind the guy and hope he proves my doubts to be wrong.

I ask you AGAIN. Apart from a european success years ago what has hiddink done for you to be so enamoured with him. The fact you think Mancini is inexperienced is totally fucking laughable. Bit like you really.

What has to be remembered is that non of today's event's are Mancini's fault, he deserves 100% backing and a chance like Hughes had, it's true he has no Premiership experience, but nor did Wenger, Mourinho, Benitez (Bad example but he has won trophies). And he has won trophies and is probably a bigger name in world football terms than Hughes.

I think if the guy had any scruples he wouldnt have been discussing a job that was filled nearly three weeks ago....so to be fair he has played his part.

I feel let down by the behaviour of Manchester City tonight, and a guy has lost his job when he didnt deserve to.

Calm down, he was given a year and a half (which is in football terms a long time) to do a job, which he didnt do well, so he was replaced with a manager who has managed bigger clubs and won lots more trophys, and dont forget, this guy was Inters best manager in the last 30 years when he was there.

If you want stability, you need to get in a decent manager first, a manager capable of managing players egos, you dont want to sign world class players only to fuck them off again because you cant controll their egos, if you can do that then the club will be better in the future, and in my opinion, having seen Mancini manage Inter, Lazio and Fiorentina on many occasions, I thionk his style os tactics should combine with our players very nicely, and in my opinion, he has a lot more potential than Hughes as he is about the same age, has won more trophys and is already used to managing big clubs and making them successfull.

He is also a 'big brother' type manager, a shoulder to cry on, so he should be able to get players like Robinho and Adebayor playing well.

On top of that he is well respected by top class foreign players all around europe, as well as being respected by their clubs.

I think that now we have that type of manager, our chances of holding onto Robinho have drasticly improved, as well as our chances of signing big name players.

Thats back up that he's not a particularly experienced manager at the top level... 1 club, Inter who won the title by default thanks to match fixing.

What proven credentials does he have to manage a team like ours not yet at the top? He may well succeed and i hope he does, but he's not yet got the proven track record, just like Hughes never.
