This thread is encouraging me.

In fact I'd go so far as to say that if Clichy and Silva are fit we will win.

What we need is fluidity in attack so no Nasri, please. I actually think I'd leave out Tevez for this reason, too. We need to attack at speed and not have these two slowing things up.

4231, I'd actually go with this:

Zab............Komps......Nasty..........Clichy

..............Milner...............Barry..............

........Silva............Yaya..............Balotelli

.........................Ageuro.....................

Contraversial I know but gives us pace and power on the counter attack.

Good starting XI (same as the Sick Swan apart from Zaba and Nasty), and I'm hoping Yaya gets back to dominating a game in that attacking midfield position.

Agree with what you say about Nasri too, he seems to want to beat himself more often than not.

Mario will have to play a lot like Tevez with regards to defending from the front to justify his inclusion IMO.

I'd have Richards in like a shot if he were available.

It's not actually the same system as the 6-1. That was a 4222 with Yaya deep and Milner ahead of him. I wouldn't do that, even though it worked in that game.

Ah yeah you're right, Milner, Richards and Silva combined up that right hand side really well that day.

I prefer a 4-2-2-2 to any other formation but Mancini likes the fluidity of front 4 of the 4-2-3-1

All I want to see from the Blues is a bit more urgency in the passing, we build too slow and teams get organised, when we were playing great football last season it was from fast flowing football (SPuds away, Utd away) we lost momentum when we started to slow the play down. I hate derbies so I will not predict a score, but we need not to lose

I think our application has to improve dramatically from any previous performance this season if we are to beat 'them lot'.

Plainly we can but they'll raise their game too so will be difficult.

That said, I'm not sure that defeat will irreparably scupper our title prospects.

At the start of the week, the talk was Clichy & Silva not being fit. Now, it seems they both are, and United have Vidic, Cleverley, Anderson, Nani, Valencia & Kagawa injured.

It means one of Scholes, Fletcher or Jones will be partnering Carrick in DM for them, which can only be a good thing for you.

There's no reason why yuou shouldn't be beating United on Sunday. None whatsoever.

RV fucking P

Ill be happy if Kagawa and Valencia are out, Those two are threats.

If they play with either Scholes or Giggs then I will be happy

Never say things which have potential to come back and bite you on the arse mate, especially on derby day!

haha I think I have just gotten over the Scholes header ! lol

Those 2 are getting slated by the reds I know, So fingers crossed their bad form continues !

We have to improve defensively, work for each other off the ball, something we didnt do in the CL,

hope clichy's fit, the thought of kolarov against united gives me nightmares, silva will be fit, guidetti tweeted something about him being in training tuesday.

I'll go 3-0 city, they have horrible injuries and there defence is something that we will almost definitely exploit.

If we lost i'd be devastated.

I hope we give united a good game and win!
If rumours on the paper our to be believed that players have been banned from talking about the derby is the brilliant.

Fergie has started it--- <a class="postlink" href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/dec/06/sir-alex-ferguson-manchester-city-scalp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012 ... city-scalp</a>

Remember last season after the Liverpool game the wek before united faced us he dismissed saying how united faced all the big teams and missed out when he named then boy did he learn not to belittle us again...singing a different tune this time LOL

Patrick Barkley is getting on my nerves and other jourlist who are always trying to rubbish our achievements just look at this headline and piece from evening standard

Provided Balo and Yaya put in the required shifts when we are not in possession this is a solid line up. I have a feeling Mancini will start Balotelli for this one and my only other thought is that he might pair him with Edin as opposed to Sergio.
