Whilst I was at city square and watching the entertainment(Natalie Pike), I saw a marching band walking behind me when I turned around. They were playing blue moon and wearing city shirts. I thought they might be playing at the game but I couldn't here them.

Who are they and did they get in? I assume that they didn't just bring their instruments just to walk around city square??

When we walking out of the stadium after the game they passed us. They where heading back in the direction of City Square.

They were walking around the concourse before the game. Sounded brilliant, especially the "best team in the land and all the world" tune. Got a bit of a buzz going. Stick to the concourse though, not wanted in the stands.

when it came along the family stand everyone just seemed to stop in their tracks, very entertaining kids loved it.but yes keep it out of the stands, really wanted everyone to join in and sing along, maybe next time.(if there is one)

They came all the way down to the south stand but stopped at 120, don`t think they fancied riskin it in the mosh, entertaining,
but my first thought was "i hope to fuck they are not sat behind me"

Im in the band. It's something that city have asked for through an events company to add to the atmosphere before the game. Dont think the intention is to go in the stands but when we next meet i will pass it on that this isnt wanted. We will have more chants and stuff next time that was all put together in an hour so we could only get 3 in time.

You only gonna go round the lower teir? the higher teirs need some are in even more need of atmosphere ;) the crowd seemed really quiet the night :(

The plan was to go on both tiers but cos it took security ages to understand that we cnt get massive drums through turnstiles, which resulted in taking about 20 minutes to get permission for us to go through a door instead, we didnt get round to it!

Please do feed it back that there will be huge opposition if you start playing in the stands during the game. That is one stage removed from playing music when we score!

I think it's great for the kids before the game in City Square etc though, so best of luck with it, hope it works out for you.

Great idea. I heard them on the L1 concourse near the NW corner while I was walking round the outside on my way in. Sounded great considering it was put together and organised in a bit of a rush... Be good to see you up on Levels 2 and 3.

Definitely echo the not in the stands/during the game comments and also encourage you to play songs to be sung along with.. great way to get the atmosphere going.

I love my club these days.. Actually I've always loved it but I'm now very proud of what we're becoming and how we do things. I know the traditionalists won't necessarily always agree, but things change and I reckon the change is definitely for the better.

No reason adults cant sing to it. That's the idea!
Of course there's no reason why not, but I've been going to football for 25 years and never needed a marching band to encourage me to sing. To be honest it would probably put me off singing as I find it a bit cheesy, but everyone is different.

I think it's fine for pre match light entertainment but marching bands trying to get chants going is a bit cringy, reminds me of the face painted En-ger-land fans, and that is definitely not a good thing!
