Okay so where does the dislike for him come from?

Well,he's a former world number one who is only 22 years old,who is shagging Caroline Wozniaki the tennis star,and he donates a fucking small fortune out of his winnings to UNICEF,so clearly he is a shite golfer and an all-round ****.

3 pga tour wins
3 european tour wins.

Woods. 1997 till 2002

8 majors
5 WGC wins
34 pga tour wins
10 european tour wins.

If he wasn't Irish first and European second then the press would be saying he is just another good pga tour pro.

jesus christ lads.

golf's the one sport where your pro career's success isn't determined by the first 5 years of it.

This is a great new era of golf and we should be enjoying it, there are quality young players from across the globe who are going to be challenging each other for big titles and majors, a far cry from when Woods was dominating.

They're both quality golfers and we've got the next 30 years to see how McIlroy gets on.

I doubt we will EVER see anyone as dominant as Tiger was at such a tender age or, for that matter, ANY age!!! I equate Tigers career a bit like Mike Tyson's career. Both were prodigies, both were dominant early in thier careers, both had their opponents beaten beofre the match was started. Tyson, however, was NEVER as mentally tough as Tiger was though. Tyson was very fragile mentally. Both steamrolled through all comers and both were CLEARLY the best at what they did.

After they fell from grace, they both lost that aura of invincibilty. Guys that wouldnt last three rounds in Tysons camp as sparring partners were kciking his ass. I certainly doubt that tiger will get that aura back. thats not to say he cannot/will not become #1 again and win more majors but I dont think he will EVER get that aura back. Oh yeah i forgot, both Tyson and Tiger went off the rails AFTER losing a significant father figure in their lives-Tigers dad died and Tyson had Cus D'Amato. For all his faults Cus loved Tyson and Tyson loved Cus.

As far as Rory goes, you never know if he is going to keep on going upwards but he has acheived a tremdous amount so far. the way he blew away the field at last years US Open was special, especially for someone in his early 20's. He seems like a down to earth kid that has grown up with his feet firmly planted on the ground. Fame and money change some people who dont have those values instilled in them or the stability in thier lives. Just look at the sports pages here in America that, at times, resemble more of a crime watch page.

Would love to see rory win as I would love to see Phil or Freddy win again....
