Surely though, if he hadn't been hit with the two shot penalty at the time of the scorecard being signed, then he hasn't signed for a wrong scorecard. Or is the penalty administered automatically at the time of the offence, even if it hadn't been spotted by the officials at that time ? It's hard to argue in black and white that he'd signed for the wrong scorecard at the end of his round yesterday
As it stands he didn't sign for the wrong score because the rules officials had deemed at that time he hadn't transgressed the rules.
So he then signed for a score that had been ratified by said officials.
The problem he then had was he then openly said he'd dropped at a specific distance away from his original shot.

So surely a retrospective 2 shot penalty is the right punishment then ? It's a messy one to be fair. Mad the way this has all gone from hitting that pin on the 15th last night, looked like he was on the charge for the lead, now he's what 5 back ? And lucky to be in it at all

Like people have been saying, he didn't sign an incorrect scorecard. It was only in hindsight with video replays that it was deemed a penalty and a penalty that he actually alluded to himself.

I think its a fair penalty.

The sticking point is he's supposed to drop the ball as near as possible to where he played his last shot. He can drop within two club lengths but I think that's generally understood to relate to someone who has to go back to a previous shot some distance away.

Yeah he's fully aware he's done it, which sorta makes you think he mayknow that he's incurring the two shot penalty, but it's the officials job to pull him up on it. A funny one really

I think if that Chinese lad had missed the cut because of his penalty shot then Tiger would've been a gonner today for sure.

the thing that sticks in the craw is tiger knows the rules he even said he went 2 yards back to gain an advantage after what just happend to him . he and the masters commitee have done golf no favours today. but he is the cash cow he seems to be fucking up and me for one hope he comes last he should of withdrew out of respect for the tourny

Can someone please put a shot through that very annoying bird? Sounds like a Lithuanian car alarm.
i dont want to call you a racist but are you not sure it could be an Estonian car alarm???
Haven't heard any car alarms in Estonia, but I have heard many in Lithuania. Anyway, the bird stopped chirping when I turned off the tv. Maybe it wasn't actually at the Masters but rather in the tv-set?

ive got 3 of my bets in the first 4 , day, sned ,cabrera , im sure it will let me down by tomorrow night

In this day and age, especially during the majors when every shot is on camera anyway, do the players have to sign a scorecard. Just seems a way of catching someone out. There's a leader board anyway on the course and any number of websites.

If he has a good back nine,a very good one he could even nick it.
