The Masters Golf

Shame how this tournament has fizzled out. Since there were 9 joint leaders early yesterday the big guns have lost it. Has to be said rounds 3/4 have been pretty boring but that doesn’t take anything away from DJ who has absolutely smashed it.

I don't think anything will ever sum up Woods' pure talent better than the fact he's competing with the best players in the world with a fused spine and in so much pain from multiple compound leg fractures he can barely walk unaided.

Although this is also a man who did his ACL, ignored it, playing 6 tournaments and winning 5 of them (including a major) only to discover he'd also fractured his tibia in 2 places.

TaylorMade have some fun videos with their tour players where they do challenges, and they're a great insight into both how much his fellow pro's revere him, and also how he's just capable of doing things they can't despite having to completely rebuild his swing to remove pressure from his back and left knee.

The two main load-bearing parts of the body in golf, and he's playing around them and still competing. It's like if 35 year old Messi had to have his left ankle fused and started playing right footed and was still one of the best players in the world.

Should we really be celebrating Toger Woods' return like he's some kind of hero? I don't want to denigrate the achievement of him actually being there but his accident was of his own making and just lucky that no-one else was hurt because of his recklessness. Maybe it's me turning into a whinging old git but the fawning over his comeback is a bit too much for this curmudgeon.

I haven't heard much fawning, although it's nice to see him back playing, despite the circumstances that prevented it.
You're quite right of course, his actions could have caused all kinds of damage to innocent parties, but thankfully they didn't, and we all hope he has learned his lessons, and is humble enough to realise how lucky he is.
That said, he, as the best player we have seen grace a golf course post the nicklaus era, deserves all the plaudits he gets regarding his game.
In his prime he was unbeatable. A very rare thing in golf, for that length of time.
He may even have a major or two left in his locker yet...

I think he’d quite like to squeeze out 3 more, if he could!

Ideally, 1 Masters, 1 US Open and 1 PGA!

Anything after that would be gravy!

I'd like tiger to win another major, and I'd be happy to see him win another four, even though I'm a big nicklaus fan (he was my dad's hero)
In a way he should be ahead of Jack by now, but injuries robbed him of chances. But that's golf I guess.

Last I heard his only actions were driver error, hitting the accelerator instead of the brake in a car he'd never driven before. No alcohol or drugs in his system, no charges filed, just an accident at a notorious accident black spot.

A 400hp SUV going downhill would accelerate from 45 to 87 very quickly with the pedal depressed at 99%.

I'm not sure why people find it hard to agree with the people who literally investigated the crime? The brakes were never pressed, only the accelerator was. People who are speeding and lose control apply the brakes at some point.

Well that suggests to me that he didn't know how to control the vehicle. Who actually uses 100% throttle while going downhill?
There's only 2 pedals. One makes it go, one makes it stop.
Are you suggesting that tiger got these 2 simple controls mixed up?
