The media bias thread?

Let them scoff. The media will be singing a different tune next year if Pep arrives!!
You can tell they are worried if all they can have a go at us for is having a few empty seats.

Personally, I've taken my own stand and have sacked off sky. I am not paying to listen to Tyler and the moronic jounalists on the Sunday Supplement run down our great club on a daily weekly basis.

A good Article by Jonathan Liew in the Telegraph about the demise of the Rags. He points out the media bias resulting from so many ex rag players in the press.
Particularly liked his line that Van Gaal should be made President of North Korea to stop them ever attacking.

Modern football is tribal and global and merciless. Deriving glee from the misfortune of other clubs is part of the rich tapestry of fandom. Liverpool’s failure to win the league in 2014 was hilarious. So too Chelsea’s pitiful title defence this season. Likewise, if you support any of the 91 Football League clubs that are not Manchester United, their current plight is, like Woodward’s transfer policy, the gift that keeps giving.

This is exactly as it should be. Footballing empires draw strength from the envy of rivals. When they crumble, nobody should be surprised when those rivals do not stand and weep, but point and laugh.

I like this fella, that article is spot on.

hello mods,

just wanted to raise a point about the media bias thread;

you've had your fun, bring it back.

no, on a serious note, locking the player threads and some of the other monster threads may have been a good idea due to umpteen concurrent arguments (debates, i mean) about the same player and how it became a bit of an exclusive club as it put many posters off even viewing them.

However the media bias one seemed a bit different as it acted as a bin for all the media articles, match reviews, player ratings stories and garth crooks' mad ramblings. Ive noticed there have been very very few new threads about the media and City since the thread was shut. Personally i thought the media bias lot were crackers but i liked reading it, and the scrutiny of the media is pretty damned important.

what do you think? bring it back? have another thread for media based stories? ta
If it makes a comeback it should be renamed 'The Masochist's Thread' or the 'Let's Look For Things When They're Not Even There' thread or 'The Media Know We're A Touchy Bunch So Let's Give Them Something To Aim Some Shit At' thread !

He should be told, should he have the nerve to turn up for the match tonight that, as we're struggling to sell tickets and are a bit short of cash, we'll have to charge for entry, hospitality and use of the facilities. £500 should cover it.
That knob does a lot of our stuff in the mirror and always goes negative,today that bit about us and lots of good stuff about Everton
